Pink partners unite this month as businesses all over support breast cancer awareness and donate their proceeds to research and eradication of the deadly disease.  The first known use of the pink ribbon was in 1991 when the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed them out to participants in a NY city race raising awareness for breast cancer survivors.  According to research, the pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses that publicly support the breast cancer movement.  It is intended to evoke solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer.
We, at élite Magazine, are not only supporters of the fight against cancer, but we hope you take advantage of these great products and show your support too!
Pink Ribbon Reader by ICU Eyewear

Designed by ICU Founder Patricia Kesten, the Pink Ribbon Reader was inspired by a breast cancer survivor and nurse who reached out to Patricia directly.  Moved by her passion and strength, Patricia designed the chic reader to feature a light pink interior frame with the Breast Cancer Ribbon in pink rhinestones at the corner of the eye.  ICU Eyewear was the first eyewear company to design a reader in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, with 10% of net proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research.  The Breast Cancer Awareness – Pink Ribbon Reader ($29.95) is available at www.icueyewear.com.
