Can you believe the holiday season has already arrived? With our sights set on 2014, we look forward to the New Year and all that it has to bring.
As we reflect on the past year, we have met many amazing and talented people who we were pleased to feature in our magazine. From CNN’s Bella Shaw to Disney XD’s Aaron Landon, and Olympic gold medalist Anthony Ervin, to name a few. We live in a community with wonderful people and it is an honor for us to be able to tell their stories.
We are once again thrilled to have Hart High School alumni’s Delano Howell, who now plays for the Indianapolis Colts on the cover of this issue. Read about Delano and how the athlete made his way to the NFL in our cover story.
Just last month, we were given a tour of Woodward Santa Clarita, a company committed to its customers and programs, they are also very involved in the community, often sponsoring non-profit events. Read our feature about Woodward and learn a little more about what goes on at the facility.
There’s no shortage of talent in our community, and musician Lance Allyn proves that. You may recognize Lance as he has performed at some of the non-profit events around town.
The drive to be successful is very apparent with the young entrepreneurs in our community. Read about Nick Piscitello, 22-year-old business owner who has traveled the world. Learn more about the SCV Jaycees, and how they are paving the way to success for fellow business owners.
With the holidays here, take a moment to enjoy the spirit of the season with Henry Mayo’s Holiday Home Tour. We have given you a sneak peek of four of the homes that will be featured at this year’s Tour.
We have highlighted some of the wonderful events that have taken place in our valley over the last few months in our Crème de la Crème features. The generosity of our community members and their involvement with non-profit organizations always amazes us.
One of the events we had the privilege of attending was for our dear friend, Marlee Lauffer. The Zonta Tribute Dinner was an incredible evening, which honored Marlee and all she has done for our community. Thank you to Nancy Starczyk for providing the photo above of Moe and I at the event.
