The Dynamic Duo – Real Estate Rockstars Cherrie Brown and Zach McReynolds
Dy·nam·ic (dīnamik/)adjective: 1. (of a process or system) characterized by constant change, activity, or progress.
Easily the first word I would use when describing local real estate agents Cherrie Brown and Zach McReynolds. Followed by hard-working, out-of-the-box and resourceful—the list could go on and on.
Cherrie Brown broke into the real estate world in 2003 as an assistant and earned her license in ‘04 at Keller-Davis, Inc. What began as a way to own her own home, quickly turned into a real opportunity for a career. Zach McReynolds started his real estate beginnings in 2010 at Kellar-Williams. An entrepreneur at heart, Zach was looking for the next opportunity to put his talent to use.
“I’ve owned a few businesses over the years, one in particular that was almost 100 percent based online. And with a computer programming degree, I knew that I had the skill and vision for what I saw as the future of real estate marketing,” said Zach.
The duo was taking classes together at Kellar-Williams, and as they got to talking, they quickly realized they had similar outlooks on marketing, as well as what “the internet” could do for them. At the time, Cherrie hired Zach to build her website, and that early connection quickly grew into the partnership they have today.
“I have never seen anybody work harder at anything,” said Zach. “Cherrie works seven days a week, almost 365 days a year.”
Even after the birth of her son in 2010, Cherrie still worked non-stop for her clients. A true professional, Cherrie prioritized work meetings, showings and schedules to make sure the needs of her clients, and her family, are always met.
“It’s not easy at all. After the birth of my son I was up at 4 a.m. daily so that I could utilize the time my children were sleeping to get work done,” said Cherrie. Zach added, “In real estate, there is no 9-5. There are no “set” amount of hours you can aspire to when you want to be successful. You have to get up and work hard every day.”
It was that mentality that led the pair to produce what started as a parody-type video, but quickly turned into a local internet sensation reaching more than 30,000 views in the first few weeks on YouTube. If you haven’t seen the video, check it out at https://youtu.be/Kj0TfSEeYKg.
A huge part of the success in the Real Estate Rockstar brand is anchored by their ability to listen to their clients’ needs, match the right partner to the right client, and recognize opportunities when they are happening, not a day later. And while some may believe that the “brand” was some giant brainchild of the two, it presented itself very organically.
“You know the funny thing is, the name came from the fact that we drank Rockstar energy drinks like crazy. And we engaged the social aspect of the Internet by posting photos of the drinks as we were heading to appointments and working throughout the day,” said Zach.
What was a silent engagement of social activity turned into a nickname for the pair and then became the brand we know today. It’s these moments that are embraced and the creative vision of these two people that has driven Cherrie and Zach to the success they share today—proud top 10 realtors in the Santa Clarita Valley.
