Sand Canyon Dream Home!
Nestled in the valley off of Sand Canyon lies this beautiful 4-acre slice of heaven. Owned and meticulously maintained by Cheryl and Lindsey Davidson. Since 1982, the Davidsons have raised their two children and literally built their dream home from the ground up. They purchased the land from a family friend and have continuously updated and renovated their space throughout the years to create a magnificent home.
Starting with the drive up to this enormous home you will drive past rows of trees and walk by whimsical lawn ornaments. It is like walking in an enchanted forest tickled with bright accents of soft pink and white roses. To the left is the six car garage with a 1,500 square foot apartment located just above. The main house is yellow with white trim and a sprawling porch that is perfect for relaxing after a long day’s work allowing you to see the vast landscape of the front lawn.
The main house is 4,000 square feet, providing plenty of space for everyone to be quite comfortable. As you enter the home, you’ll notice the gleaming hickory hardwood floors and the open floor plan. You will find that most of the woodwork was, in fact, done by Lindsey himself when the house was built. Directly to the left of the entrance is the chef’s dream kitchen. The Davidsons enjoy entertaining in the spacious kitchen with an abundance of cabinet space, granite counters, and a huge center island with plenty of storage. Located a few steps past the kitchen is a walk-in pantry and a breakfast nook overlooking the front oak trees.
As you exit the nook you enter the Great room with tall vaulted ceilings and amazing woodwork also done by Lindsey. The room has two sets of French doors leading out to the backyard and pool. In the middle of the French doors there is a stunning fireplace with beautiful brickwork and a huge clock. Also in the room is yet another ‘Lindsey made’ work of wood art with a massive entertainment center. The Great room also has hickory wood floors and beautiful red, amber and copper accents. If you look up, you will see a stunning staircase leading to the balcony and connected to the office.
The stairs lead to the loft, which has a cozy living area perfect for reading a book or entertaining at the full size bar. The office at the end of the loft and through the office holds another huge surprise, an incredible wine room that holds over 700 bottles of wine and is kept at a constant chilled temperature.
Descending down the stairs in the right wing of the main home are three ample bedrooms and two bathrooms.
The master bedroom is sprawling and is designed for comfortable living. The entire room is illuminated during the day by natural light from the large French doors that lead to the backyard and pool. At night, the master bath is equipped with everything you will need for a soothing evening. The granite countertops and heated travertine floors allows for a relaxing atmosphere with a large soaking tub and separate shower.
Stepping out of the master suite and across the hall are two well-sized bedrooms, both with walk-in closets for when the kids and grandkids visit. One is decorated with a nautical theme of lighthouses with two twin beds. The other bedroom has a queen size bed with a fresh and comforting feel. Both share a custom bath that is at the end of the hallway offering total peace and tranquility.
Leaving the right wing and heading to the left wing of the house you will find a full size laundry room connected to what Cheryl calls the ‘bridal suite’. The bridal suite has a bed and mirrored closet doors that are simply perfect for the bride and her party to get prepared in. Both of their children had their weddings on the Estate and even today, Cheryl and Lindsey continue to host a few weddings for close friends and family.
The backyard is definitely one of the best parts of the home. It hosts a pool with an 11 foot slide on one side and a massive waterfall and bridge on the other. At night the waterfall is lit with tiki torches and topped with a fire bowl. Right in front of the pool is a large gazebo with an inviting sitting area to unwind while the kids and grandkids frolic in the massive pool. They also have a spa for a bit of relaxation as well. On the left side of the pool there is a palapa and bar area with stools yet another perfect place to grab a drink, barbeque or just hang out. The backyard has a big grass area perfect for hosting outdoor weddings. Just behind the backyard is a three bedroom and two bathroom guesthouse, which makes the home a true multi-generation estate.
The Davidson’s home is that of wonder for their enjoyment and that of their extended friends and family. Walking in and out of this home you definitely feel the warmth and happiness of so many memories that have been enjoyed and shared throughout the years.
