It started out as a young girl’s passion for fashion, and eventually turned into a lifelong career and dream come true.  
Susan Handley, founder and sole designer of Beijo, began designing handbags at age ten.  While they were simply ideas left for the imagination, today, her ideas have become a reality.  “Designing for me is like making dreams come true,” states Susan.  “When something beautiful enters my mind and I am able to make it a reality, it is such an incredible feeling.”

She spends nearly $30,000 per episode on wardrobe.  From the earrings the actors wear right down to the nitty gritty shoes they walk in, she’s the one in charge.  Her eye for fashion coupled with the ability to understand the director’s vision has made her a success in the industry.  After spending a morning on the set of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, I got the opportunity to see firsthand, the meticulous nature of being a Costume Designer.  SCV resident and Costume Designer, for the hit television series CSI, Eileen Cox Baker, took a moment to talk with us.

Cancer. It’s a foreboding word that no one can seem to avoid. We’ve either known someone personally, or heard of someone affected and dying from cancer. The word implies an outside force attacking the core of the body. Such a formidable disease is difficult to tolerate, and when a child is forced to carry such a burden, the disease becomes increasingly intolerable. The fight against cancer is a cultural effort, and yet there are certain people and organizations who make it their personal mission to battle this plague.

He played the bleached blond teen idol we’ve all grown to love, and now he’s the stunning and handsome public defender on Raising the Bar.  Born in Panorama City to a Dutch father and Indonesian mother, actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar is one of four children who decided to take the Hollywood route.  “I started at age four doing printwork,” states Mark-Paul, “eventually working my way into commercials and television.”  The talented actor has made guest appearances on shows such as Punky Brewster, Charles in Charge and The Wonder Years, to name a few, before landing the starring role as the popular Zack Morris on the television sitcom, Saved by the Bell.
