A Message from the Associate Publisher Alexander Hafizi – Dec2018-Jan2019
The Holidays are here and it’s a time to get together with loved ones. Our family here at élite Magazine would like to share with the Santa Clarita community another issue full of some very interesting people who live right here in our hometown. In this issue, we are shedding some light on a group of ladies who are truly shining and making our town and the world a much brighter place to live. They are a combination of strong, committed individuals who play a powerful role in the Santa Clarita Valley and they are a true inspiration to people everywhere. The power of a woman knows no bounds and these ladies are doing big things. From working as a high fashion runway model to being a full-time mom, these women mean business!
Let’s start at the beginning, Marlee Lauffer graces our cover. Marlee plays an instrumental role in the expansion and development of our city and her position as Henry Mayo’s Foundation President and Vice President of Marketing and Communication for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. Marlee is doing it all and at full speed all to see a better community for all of us to enjoy (read her story on page 8). We are also pleased to introduce you to some awesome ladies as this year’s Ultimate Ladies in Business Award Winners (starts on page 10). Congratulations from all of us at élite Magazine. Although we are very female focused we did feature a gentleman whose philanthropic heart gives back to the community that has given him so much. (read his story on page 42). Speaking of giving back, we have a company here in the Santa Clarita Valley that has donated their services to helping our veteran heroes. (see the families that have been helped on page 38). As this is the season for giving, we wanted to give you a sneak preview of the homes that are to be featured in this year’s Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital’s Holiday Home Tour, (check out the featured homes starting on page 30). Going back to our strong female role models, our Looking Back features a physician who for 47 years has been treating generations of families and their children. (read her inspiring story on page 78). Talking about families, we have also spotlighted some fun and exciting adventures to try throughout Los Angeles. (see page 64 for more details).
In response to the recent limousine tragedy in the state of New York, we feature Exclusive Sedan, with the upcoming holiday season, they share their advice on safety, security and how to ensure these things when looking for a limousine service. (read their story on page 54). Additionally, we feature a bright young lady’s triumph over addiction in the face of her own life’s tragedies. (read her inspirational story on page 44).
We truly hope you enjoy reading about the lives of so many individuals and how they worked so hard to get where they are today and maybe this will inspire you to follow their lead.
On behalf of our élite Magazine’s family, we hope you have a safe and wonderful holiday season and we will see you next year!
Until next time,
