2023 Holiday Home Tour Unwrap the Magic of the Season
It’s the most magical time of the year – The Holiday Home Tour is coming to town! This year’s theme is “Unwrap the Magic of the Season.” The Home Tour League hosts this beloved event which attracts people from near and far who love the excitement and novelty of the holiday season.
The Holiday Home Tour League is generously sponsored by Southern California Real Estate Management (SCREM), and this year’s season will kick-off on Wednesday, November 29 at an in person VIP preview event at one of the beautifully decorated homes. On Friday, December 1 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia is the Gala, complete with dinner and dancing, and a video of the three fabulous decorated Santa Clarita homes. This year, the homes are proudly sponsored by Holly Hanlin of Berkshire Hathaway, Comfort Keepers In-Home Care, and Williams Homes. On Sunday, December 3, from 9am – 4pm, the festivities will continue with the Holiday Home Tour’s Boutique (free admission), at the Henry Mayo Center sponsored by Valencia Facey OB-GYN Physicians featuring a wide array of holiday décor and gifts from some of the best Santa Clarita Valley vendors.
This year’s homeowners all have uniquely styled homes that will create a fabulous virtual holiday tour. Each of the homes will reflect and showcase the distinct characteristics of the homeowners and their personal holiday styles. The Phillip’s home will showcase a beautiful home in Westridge with the theme of a “Sun Kissed Christmas” and is sponsored by Holly Hanlin of Berkshire Hathaway. Up next is the magnificent home of the Miles’ located in the Happy Valley area of Newhall and sponsored by Comfort Keepers In-Home Care. Their theme will be “Believe in the Magic of Christmas”. The third stunning home featured on the tour is located in Westridge, owned by the Mina Family and decorated with the theme of “I’ll be Home for Christmas”. This home is sponsored by Williams Homes.
This annual event benefits the Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Center for Women and Newborns (CWN), which includes the Kim and Steven Ullman Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital has a special place in the hearts of our sponsors, as well as all of the homeowners participating in this year’s Virtual Tour. Anthony and Gina Miles have called Santa Clarita home for over 26 years. They built their home in the Happy Valley area of Newhall from the ground up, thinking about the perfect place for large family gatherings as well as entertainment for friends, extended family and church groups. The Miles have been married for 44 years and have five children, twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. Gina has remodeled various rooms in the house over the years, as the children have grown and needs have changed. Designers Ruben Haynes and Ronda Chobanian-Murray from Ruben Haynes Designs will bring traditional Christmas décor to life in the Miles’ home. You will experience the elegance of a grand foyer in traditional Christmas colors that leads you to the living room that is transformed with a very special Red Truck. The Family room is the heart of the home, designed for large family gatherings and adorned in red and white. This home was designed to make you “Believe in the Magic of Christmas”.

The home of Jim and Debbie Phillips is rooted in a family history that spans generations of farmers, each eager to grow not only citrus – but a legacy. They met in 2008 and feel so fortunate to have been lucky at love again. They have a combined family of four girls, four boys and four grand babes. The couple relocated to Valencia in 2019, falling in love with their home’s expansive view of the valley beneath. The couple completely remodeled this four bedroom and seven bathroom home. You will see Jim’s love of wine well represented throughout the house and you’ll feel like you are in a boutique hotel with a Modern Madrid style, mixing traditional Spanish style with accents of modern finishes. Debbie’s initial inspiration for home design originates from circles. For her they represent life, hope, wholeness and the shape of an orange! The Phillips teamed up with the Queen of Christmas, Jeanna Crawford to bring the theme of a “Sun Kissed Christmas” to life. The holiday theme was inspired by a painting, “Pomona,” which features the Roman mythical goddess of fruit trees and orchards, and represents where the Phillips come from. Jim is a third-generation citrus farmer and Debbie’s family has authentic roots in agriculture.

Josie Mina has been a resident of Santa Clarita for 29 years. She and her husband, Gerry Dionisio, meet in 2007 while they both happened to be vacationing in Paris, France. Shortly thereafter, Gerry moved from Vancouver, Canada to join Josie in Santa Clarita. Together they have a combined family of four grown children and three dogs. They love traveling and find great enjoyment experiencing the sights and cultures of other counties. In 2019, Josie embarked on what would be a full renovation of her Westridge home, lasting four years with the help of her designer, Gin Treadwell of GTH Interiors. Now completed, the theme for the Mina home is fitting with “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”. Focusing on celebrating the holiday season back in your family’s home. As a previous homeowner and designer for the Holiday Home Tour, Gin is bringing her expert knowledge as she decorates the home. Gin will focus on highlighting treasured family pieces, and incorporating color and texture to bring the holidays to life in this home.
