2025 State of the City: “Hart Park: History in Every Frame”
This year’s State of the City event will shine a spotlight on one of Santa Clarita’s most treasured landmarks—William S. Hart Park. With the theme “Hart Park: History in Every Frame,” the City will celebrate the official transition of this historic site into Santa Clarita’s park system and reflect on the legacy, landscape and lore that make Hart Park an irreplaceable part of our community’s story.
The event will take place on Thursday, October 16 at 3:00 p.m. at the Canyon Country Community Center. Residents, community leaders and local stakeholders are invited to gather for an afternoon that pays tribute to our past, while looking ahead to an exciting future.
Just like the silent films that made William S. Hart a household name, every frame of this event is crafted with meaning. Guests will enjoy a cinematic journey through the milestones of the past year, hear directly from the City Councilmembers and watch video updates that showcase the progress, priorities and projects shaping the future of Santa Clarita. Each guest will also receive a commemorative gift and be invited to relax on the terrace afterward, where drinks and appetizers will be served.
The addition of William S. Hart Park as Santa Clarita’s 40th City park demonstrates the City’s meaningful commitment to preserving open space, celebrating our western heritage and protecting the stories that have shaped our region. From the oak-dotted hills to the historic ranch house and the silent echoes of early cinema, Hart Park is a place where our community’s roots run deep—and now, it will be forever protected as part of the City’s legacy.
In addition to the celebration of Hart Park, guests will also get to hear more about the other major projects completed in 2025, including the already popular River of Lights at Central Park and the Pioneer Oil Refinery Park. The City Council will also talk about important topics like public safety and homelessness – as well as share recaps of some of the City’s most popular events like Light Up Main Street, SENSES Block Parties and Concerts in the Park. As is the tradition, the final video of the event will be sure to entertain guests with some surprises and even some drama.
We invite you to be part of this memorable event as we honor the past, celebrate the present and frame a bright future for generations to come. For ticket information please visit SantaClarita.gov or call (661) 255-4939.
