The importance of health and wellness has undoubtedly become more significant in our everyday lives. Dieting, weight loss programs, exercise programs, fitness facilities, spas and activity groups are more commonplace. Individuals desire a more active lifestyle to maintain good health, and are becoming more aware of the importance of taking responsibility toward one’s own health and wellness. Last year, the Health and Wellness Committee hosted the first Health and Wellness Fair, and it was considered to be an enormous success- with a fully sold-out venue and a crowd of over 1,500 area consumers. Health screenings were available to members of the community. This year, the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce is inviting the public to a free Health and Wellness Fair to be held on Saturday, February 20. The Fair will be located in the gymnasium at the College of the Canyons. The gymnasium will be able to hold more health related vendors than last year’s venue. The event will include health screenings, information about cancer and other diseases, and nutrition and wellness strategies. Health experts will be on hand to provide valuable information and answer your questions. The Health and Wellness Fair will take place at the College of the Canyons Gym, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road in Valencia.
