Welcome to Shady Oak Lane.  This elegant custom built home, located in the prestigious gated Westridge Estates of Valencia has everything that one would want when entertaining guests, or just looking for a getaway from daily life when you come home.
Offset on a spacious private lot, this home is unassumingly polished, both inside and out.   Modeled after the Tuscan villas of Italy, the home features stone facades, stucco walls, and even a clay tile roof.  Dark, oil-rubbed fixtures and hardwood doors and trim add a bold and dramatic contrast, both in texture and color.
Walk through the front door and you walk into simple and sophisticated grace.  To the right you find the formal dining room, and to the left, the living room.  Both rooms are individual dramas of contrast; cream walls are paired with dark wood furniture and boldly printed fabrics.  The texture of the distressed wood floors sets off the bone colored tile of the entry that tie these rooms together.
Follow the Versailles travertine hallway and eventually you will reach the spacious kitchen; with a six-burner range, oven, and large refrigerator, you have everything needed to prepare a masterful meal.  Stainless Viking appliances meet copper undertones while setting off the granite countertops.  While preparing meals, you even have a warming drawer to keep your entrees warm while setting guests or preparing the rest of the dinner.
The beauty of the home is the open layout of the house.  The kitchen blends seamlessly with the large family room.  A large corner fireplace is topped with a grand mirror, giving the room a larger-than-life feel.  The in-wall theater system adds depth to the room without taking additional space.  And your guests or family can enjoy a show while keeping you company as you cook, providing companionship as they lounge on the large leather sofa.  Vaulted, open beam ceilings complete the air of openness.
Another great feature of Shady Oak is the plethora of windows.  The many portals to the outside create the illusion of being one with the yard, bathing the home in the natural light that spills inward.  Opening the many doors and windows, it almost seems as though the covered patio is simply a natural extension of the family room.
Go up the wrought iron stairway and you come out on the game room landing.  A large pool table, felted in navy, is the centerpiece.  However, what really ties the game room to the rest of the house are the multiple cutouts, through which one can view the lower family room and kitchen.
Also upstairs are the two additional rooms, sharing their own jack-and-jill bath.  A spacious upstairs laundry room makes for ease for everyone in the home.  Another room upstairs has even been converted into a relaxing room, complete with its own bath.   Refined blues and taupes on the couch tie nicely to the sofa, paintings, and window treatments.  Exit the door, and one has access to your own private balcony.
The master’s bedroom, artfully placed downstairs, is both subtle and tranquil.  Again, calming blues and off white carpeting have been paired with just enough accent from the dark wood of the furniture, lighting, and drapery hardware.  The master’s bath has a lovely, above ground spa bath, topped by a chandelier.
A lovely touch, one simply has to walk out the back door of this bedroom to have a private entrance to the backyard spa.  Connected to the pool, this entire watery wonderland is framed by hardscaped Laramie stone.  Located at the top of a hill, the view from the infinity pool is one of natural wonder as you see the natural ridgeline.  With no neighbors behind, it is simply you and the mountains of Santa Clarita.
If the beautiful pool is not enough, simply lounge by the outdoor fireplace; or, rest while barbequing on the built-in outdoor kitchen.  No matter where you are in this home, or what you are doing, one thing is clear: this house is an amazing retreat.  Natural yet elegant, the calming blue of the waters, both indoors and out, will help bring you home.
