Young talent seems to be abundant in our Valley.  Meet Valencia High graduate, Tyler Recchia, who recently won the Congressional Art Competition representing the 25th District.  His artwork, Kayla’s Dream, hangs beautifully in the Cannon Tunnel Gallery in the U.S. Capitol.  Get to know the award-winning artist in our Q & A feature.
Another high school grad, Riley Mata, is paving the way for success in the water.  Riley Mita finished 25th overall and and placed 9th in the 10K race in the U.S. Open Water National Championships in Fort Lauderdale Florida.  Read more about Riley and his future goals.

This issue’s La Maison is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in Newhall.  The Victorian style home served as a backdrop for The Magazine of Santa Clarita’s first issue – Mistletoe and Holly and was also used in the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital’s Holiday Home Tour.   
We took a moment to look back at the life of Rita Roth, who recalls her younger years in London during the war.  Read about Rita and her journey from England to the United States in our Looking Back feature.  
We have highlighted many of the wonderful events that have taken place in our Valley over the last few months in our Crème de la Crème features.  The generosity of the members in our community and their involvement with non-profit organizations is amazing.
