You may recognize Amber as she stars as Taylor Hathaway on Nickelodeon’s new live action supernatural comedy, The Haunted Hathaways. While she may seem like your every day normal teenager, Amber’s character, Taylor, shares her home with a family of ghosts. The show chronicles the exciting adventures of the Hathaways and the Prestons, who are literally from different worlds.

While she may seem like your every day normal teenager, Amber’s character, Taylor, shares her home with a family of ghosts. The show chronicles the exciting adventures of the Hathaways and the Prestons, who are literally from different worlds. Originally from Tampa, Florida, Amber made her way to California in 2007 to further pursue her acting career. She got her first break in show business when she landed the role in She Could Be You. in 2007. Since then, she has starred in several television series before securing the lead role in The Haunted Hathaways. “Acting is my passion and my dream,” states Taylor. “While I love to audition because it gives me the chance to challenge myself with a new character, it’s also a lot of pressure when you don’t get the role.” Amber landed the lead role in Nickelodeon’s The Haunted Hathaways in November of 2012 after auditioning eight or nine times for several months. Her hard work paid off when Amber’s mom, Dawn, got the call that she had landed the lead role as Taylor. “I couldn’t believe it at first, but after jumping up and down, I called one of the women at my church who was always an inspiration to me, and that’s when I started to cry. I finally made it.” The Haunted Hathaways finished Season One and the cast begins filming 22 episodes for Season Two in April. Working on set has been fun for the teen actress. “I am definitely the opposite of my character, Taylor,” states Amber. “She’s pink, perfect and curly, and well, I’m not. I don’t like to dress up or wear makeup, but playing her role is fun.” While working with special effects can be challenging, Amber enjoys seeing the final product. “Heads are taken off and flying in and out of the room, and each ghosts has their own color. It’s fun to watch the episodes when they air!” The show’s cast has also become quite the family on set as well as off the set. “We get along so well, it’s like we are a real family because we spend so much time together…we even have sleepovers. It’s like having siblings!” Most teens have to worry about homework or what they’re going to wear to school the next day, but for Amber, she mixes schoolwork with a demanding career, and she does it well. “I like riding my bike and hanging out with my friends. I like to play guitar and play piano, but at 15 I also have a career, and there are things I have to do, like learn scripts, prepare for scenes, attend events…When you want something so badly, you have to work hard at it.” For more information about Amber Montana, you can follow her on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook.
