The Foxhole
Located on a corner lot is a fabulous Mediterranean-style home, owned by Teri and Michael Fox. This 4,300-square foot home sits on a 7,100-square foot lot. The home has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, and it is valued at $1.3 million.
Walking up the driveway, you’ll encounter a cozy front patio that is shaded by palm trees and decorative umbrellas. This is the perfect place to hang out while listening to the subtle sounds of trickling water from the fountain and sipping on adult refreshments in one of the comfy lounge chairs.
As you walk into the home, your eye is drawn to a stunning crystal chandelier suspended from a two-story ceiling. It hangs over a large chess board in the middle of the room. The room is painted in warm earth tones with animal print accent pillows. It has its own fireplace, and it receives abundant light through giant windows equipped with plantation shutters.
Continuing further into the home, you’ll find the first staircase. It leads to Michael’s mezzanine office and the master bedroom.
Underneath the front stair, Michael and Teri created a secret wine cave. Don’t let the small opening fool you. Inside, you’ll find a sectional sofa, wine refrigerators and a flat-panel television. “No one ever leaves this room standing up,” Michael jokingly remarked about the space.
Across from the wine cave, you’ll find the dining room. A high-top square table seats up to eight guests, and it is surrounded by family portraits on the walls. What would dinner be without a glass of wine or two? This room has more wine refrigerators, so there’s no need to duck into the wine cave. Just lean over to grab your favorite vintage.
When you walk further inside, you’ll enter the family room where the family gathers to socialize and watch movies. This room, which is surrounded by windows and family photos, continues with warm earth tones, dark wood and animal print accent pillows.
To the right of the family room is the kitchen. It has stainless steel appliances, dark wood cabinets and plenty of granite-topped counter space. It’s a welcoming space for friends and family to hang out. On one counter, you’ll find large rustic bronze letters, with red light bulbs, spelling out “BAR”. In this house, you’ll never be too far from refreshments.
Just beyond the kitchen, you’ll find a spacious breakfast nook with built-in seating and three large windows bathing the room with light.
Adjacent to the nook, you’ll find a home office management center and the back staircase.
As you ascend the back stair, you’ll notice the two-story walls are adorned with all manner of rock and roll memorabilia. Without question, the Fox family created a home fit for rock stars! At the top of the stairs, you’ll enter the loft space, which is used as a music studio. Like the staircase, the studio walls are filled with music memorabilia, and you’ll also find a collection of guitars, drums and a leopard-print stage. Michael’s band Midnight Masquerade frequently rehearses in the studio.
Continuing one way from the music studio, you’ll enter a hallway that leads to three bedrooms. Continuing another way from the studio, you’ll enter the master suite.
Upon entering the master suite from the studio, you’ll find the master bath with stone floors throughout. It is equipped with his and her sinks, a makeup counter, coffee bar, large soaking tub with a crystal chandelier overhead, a separate walk-in shower with seating and large walk-in closets.
Beyond the master bath, you’ll enter the bedroom, which is also accessible from the front stair. The master bedroom, which is carpeted, has dark wood built-in cabinets and a large flat-panel television. It also opens to a large private balcony, furnished with chaise lounges, a sofa and a rocker.
The backyard is ideal for entertaining as it is shaded by large trees. Upon entering the yard, you’ll find a bar-b-que island with refrigerator and wet-bar to the right. To the left, you’ll find a covered seating area with outdoor television. The family also loves spending time in the “spool” (larger than a spa but smaller than a pool). The spool has a rock waterfall with a grotto-like cave underneath, and you can actually swim through the waterfall into the cave, which has built-in seating. On one side of the pool, you’ll find an umbrella-covered bar with seating for 4. On the other side of the pool, you’ll find an umbrella-covered wine-barrel dining table for 4.
