A Love for Animals – That’s Animal Tracks
Animal Tracks is more than just a sanctuary. It’s a new opportunity for exotic wildlife who would never have found one otherwise. The sanctuary is a chance for these animals to recover, thrive, and rediscover all of their unique superpowers along the way.
Animal Tracks, headed by Executive Director Stacy Gunderson, is nestled in the serene community of Agua Dulce, just off the 14 freeway. It’s here that Stacy and her team of animal lovers work tirelessly to give each animal the best forever home they can, but it’s about more than just that. Their goal is to inspire and educate the general public about what each of these creatures does and represents.
“Animal Tracks is magic every single day,” she says. “We might rescue animals, but the animals also rescue us, too.”
The sanctuary is not a petting zoo, nor is it simply a place to put exotic animals on display. Rather, the animals at Animal Tracks are provided the love and nurturing they wouldn’t ever find as domesticated pets.
For Stacy and the entire Animal Tracks team, the future is only looking brighter and brighter. They believe that their animal family — comprised of species like baboons, emus, Capuchin monkeys, kangaroos and more — are deserving of every inch of attention and hope that the AT staff instill in them.
Visitors can enjoy immersive tours that are both educational and entertaining, and when you visit AT, you can feel proud of the fact that you’re working alongside their staff to further their cause.
“These animals are so intelligent, and they are worth so much more than being left in a cage in our backyard while people go about their daily lives,” says Stacy, who personally specializes in pet trade primates. “As humans, we have to be better stewards and allow other species to thrive in their natural environments to make the world a better place for all of us.”
Day in and day out, Stacy and the AT staff show up for their animals, and the goal is to move to a larger location that can accommodate more animals and visitors alike. From day one, their hope has been to develop a sense of connection and collaboration between animals, both domesticated and wild, and the humans that inhabit the earth alongside them.
They’re always looking for people to offer up their time and efforts to keep AT running. For those looking to make a difference in the lives of these beautiful creatures, they also accept monthly donations and sponsorships to help ensure that food, vet costs, and animal supply needs are met for every animal under their care.
You can learn more about tours, opportunities for volunteering/involvement, and special discounts available to the community on their website at www.animaltracksinc.org. Every donation, ticket, and hour of volunteerism directly benefits the animals, who span the entire scope of endangerment. Get involved with Animal Tracks this year and join their efforts to conserve exotic animals across the entire wildlife spectrum!
