A Message from the Associate Publisher Alexander Hafizi – Feb/Mar 2026
Every issue of SCV élite Magazine tells the story of a community shaped by service, creativity, and leadership. This edition is no exception, and it is one that truly reflects the people and partnerships that continue to move the Santa Clarita Valley forward.
We begin on the cover with Captain Brandon Barclay, whose dedication to public safety and community leadership sets the tone for this issue. His story is a powerful reminder that behind every thriving city are individuals who lead with integrity and purpose.
Continuing that theme of leadership and creativity, our Close Up section invites you to meet Katrina Negrette, an accomplished actress with Canyon Theatre Guild who recently portrayed the lead role in the Carole King musical. Alongside her story, we introduce Mark Shramek, the newly appointed Chairman of the Board for the Valley Industry Association, and share a special feature on Silver Spur and the legacy of Ed Masterson, highlighting how entrepreneurship and community pride often go hand in hand.
From leadership and legacy, we move into the people and organizations shaping our region today. This issue’s Spotlight section features SCV Water and the important work supporting our growing valley, the powerful cultural storytelling found in Ramona, and the Ballad of Juan Diego, and an inspiring before and after look at the remarkable transformations created by BSH Landscape. Building on the spirit of service, our Nonprofit Spotlight focuses on Relay for Life, honoring the volunteers, survivors, and families who continue to unite in the fight against cancer.
As we shift from community impact to local excellence, our Million Dollar Listing showcases a stunning property presented by Dippy Chinna, A Serene Sanctuary in The Woodlands. It is a beautiful example of the lifestyle and opportunities that continue to define our region. Reflecting on those who have quietly served for decades, our Looking Back feature honors Jim Brush for twenty years of volunteer service at our local hospital, while our SCV History story invites readers to experience the St. Francis Dam Site Tour and revisit a pivotal chapter in our valley’s past.
Celebrating today’s leaders is at the heart of our Ultimate Awards coverage. In this issue, we recognize our Ultimate Business, Bridal, Beauty, and Fitness winners, and we invite you to vote now for our next category, Ultimate Medical. We would like to give a huge thank you to those who support us by running in this issue. As you flip through our pages remember who the winners are and tell them you saw them in SCV élite Magazine.
This issue also features two engaging City of Santa Clarita stories, including One Story One City 2026: Where Stories Meet Music and a look at new city events blooming this season. Our lifestyle pages continue the journey with a comforting Creamy Italian Rigatoni Soup recipe by Larry McClements and Sip Into Spring wine recommendations under $50 from Eve Bushman, followed by our Business section and the Valley Industry Association column highlighting exciting upcoming events.
Rounding out this issue is our elite Wedding Magazine, featuring Follow the Wedding stories for the Jensens and the Eitans, a honeymoon journey through Africa by Kelli Alexander of PlanetKelli, expert wedding planning insight from Gina Bee Events, fabulous Wedding finds, and local catering highlights. Our wedding magazine is always so amazing. We hope you love it as much as well do.
Thank you for supporting the stories, businesses, and people who continue to shape the spirit of the Santa Clarita Valley.
Until Next Issue,
Arnold Bryant & Alexander Hafizi
