A Message from the Associate Publisher Alexander Hafizi – May/June 2026
There are moments in life that truly make you pause, reflect, and feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Being nominated for SCV Man of the Year is one of those moments for me.
To be recognized is an honor in itself, but to be nominated by three incredible organizations that have each shaped my life in meaningful ways makes it even more special. Circle of Hope, WiSH Education Foundation, and JCI Santa Clarita are not just organizations I support, they are communities that have inspired me, challenged me, and reminded me what truly matters.
Circle of Hope has shown me what true compassion looks like. I have witnessed firsthand how hope can carry someone through their most difficult days. WiSH Education Foundation has shown me the power of investing in our students and in the future of our community. And JCI Santa Clarita has surrounded me with leaders who step up, give back, and lead with purpose every single day. This nomination is not about me, it is about the people, the missions, and the impact that these organizations create.
As you dive into this issue of SCV élite Magazine, you will see that same spirit reflected on every page.
Our cover story features Dr. Robert “Jack” Casey of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, highlighting his leadership and the critical role emergency medicine plays in our community. His dedication, experience, and commitment to patient care truly embody what it means to serve at the highest level.
In Close Up, we celebrate Sandi Nabi and her incredible recognition as a National “All-Star” Candidate for Blood Cancer United’s Visionaries of the Year. Her story is one of passion, advocacy, and making a real difference in the fight against blood cancer.
Looking for a getaway? Our Great Escape takes you to Marina del Rey, where coastal charm, waterfront dining, and relaxing views create the perfect quick escape from everyday life.
Our Spotlight section is especially meaningful this issue. Living Limitless Collective is creating a space where individuals with developmental disabilities can truly belong, connect, and thrive, while our Nonprofit Spotlight introduces you to Family Promise and the life-changing work they are doing to support families facing homelessness.
In Meet the Professional, we highlight Perspire Sauna Studio and the growing focus on wellness, recovery, and self-care in our community. Our Automotive section showcases trusted local names including Valencia Acura, Mercedes-Benz of Valencia, Valencia Auto Center, and Frontier Toyota, all continuing to drive excellence and innovation.
Our Million Dollar Listing features a stunning Canyon Country home that blends character, space, and beauty, truly a property that stands out both inside and out.
We are proud to feature a special new column in our magazine called Senior Life all about the SCV Senior Center and their members. Our first story is about Mario Brucker, his life has been a journey defined by resilience, creativity, and the power of human connection, a story that will truly inspire you.
In the SCV History column, the Santa Clarita Valley Historical Society brings the past to life with a unique presentation, complete with commentary from Phil Scorza.
And of course, one of the highlights of this issue, our Ultimate Medical Awards, where we celebrate the very best in healthcare throughout our community. These awards are a true reflection of the people and professionals who go above and beyond every single day. We are also excited to announce that voting is now open for our next rounds of Ultimate Awards, including Ultimate Kids and Ultimate Home & Garden. You can cast your votes at scvelitemagazine.com/ultimate-awards and help us recognize even more incredible businesses and individuals in our community.
Rounding out the issue, you will find a fresh and flavorful recipe from Larry McClements, and in Wine 101, Eve Bushman raises a glass to your health with a feature on wine and the Mediterranean diet, highlighting insights from Jacqueline Coleman, and Maria Valetta.
You will also find updates from the City of Santa Clarita including their Summer Reading Program and upcoming events, along with our Business VIA column offering valuable insights for local professionals.
At the heart of it all, this issue is about community. It is about connection, impact, and celebrating the people who make Santa Clarita such an incredible place to live, work, and give back.
Thank you for being part of it.
Until Next Issue,
Arnold Bryant & Alexander Hafizi
