A Season of Celebration Your Insider Guide to Santa Clarita’s May and June Events
The City of Santa Clarita is a place unlike any other, where community comes first and creating meaningful moments is part of everyday life. With a strong family-oriented community, the City recognizes the importance of creating opportunities for quality time and shared experiences. Each year, a dynamic lineup of events brings residents together, and this summer is no exception.
May and June are jam-packed with opportunities. From cultural celebrations to lively nightlife and outdoor experiences, Santa Clarita offers a full calendar designed to bring people together. Leading the way this season are two standout event series—Celebrate and SENSES Block Party—each offering its own unique atmosphere and energy.
Held on the second Friday of each month through September, Celebrate transforms the Canyon Country Community Center from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. into a cultural experience that feels like traveling the world without ever leaving the City. In May, the spotlight turns to Cajun culture, where the soulful sounds of trumpets and brass instruments fill the air. Guests’ taste buds will rejoice after one bite of the sweet beignets, create Mardi Gras-inspired crafts and take part in activities that highlight the rich traditions of the region.
The journey continues in June with a celebration of Indonesia. If this destination has been on your bucket list, this is your chance to experience a taste of it locally. Enjoy authentic cuisine from Stopbye Food Truck, watch traditional Indonesian dancers and try your balance on an inflatable surfboard—bringing the playful island spirit to the evening.
For those looking for more exhilarating Thursday nights, SENSES Block Party in Old Town Newhall delivers an unforgettable experience on the third Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Main Street transforms into a high-energy open-air celebration complete with live music, dancing, themed entertainment and an on-street bar hosted by local hot spots. In May, Medieval Quest invites guests into a whimsical world of knights and royalty, featuring archery-inspired activities and floral crown accents. June shifts gears with Honey I Shrunk the SENSES, where oversized games and larger-than-life props create a playful, immersive environment. With rotating themes, food trucks and a lively crowd, SENSES continues to prove that no two nights are ever the same.
Beyond these signature events, Santa Clarita’s early summer calendar is packed with can’t-miss experiences. Kicking off the month of May with a touch of cinematic magic in Central Park, May the 4th be with you. Set against the glowing backdrop of the River of Lights, this brand-new event brings together food trucks, interactive games—including lightsaber battles—and a special outdoor screening of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. It’s a fun, family-friendly way to start the summer season with a little adventure from a galaxy far, far away. The Old Town Newhall Art Walk on May 16 invites guests to explore local galleries and discover emerging artists, while the Newhallywood Film Festival from May 22–24 celebrates storytelling and creativity in the heart of the Arts and Entertainment District. For outdoor enthusiasts, the Great American Campout on June 6–7 offers a fun-filled overnight adventure perfect for families, and later in the month, City Cinemas returns on June 26 with a classic movie-under-the-stars experience.
From cultural exploration and nightlife to arts and outdoor traditions, Santa Clarita’s May and June lineup captures the essence of summer. Whether you’re looking to try something new or simply spend time with loved ones, there are countless opportunities to make lasting memories right here at home.
