A Simply Beautiful Wedding – Jacey Massetto & Ian Caddow
Questions We Asked The Bride…
What day did you get married?
July 9th, 2022.
Where did you get married?
At Hart & Main in Newhall, CA.
What was your favorite part about the location of the wedding?
Our favorite part about Hart & Main was that we really felt like we got the whole package in this one venue. We wanted to have an intimate wedding in a modern venue that was unique and not completely traditional. Hart & Main not only checked all these boxes, but also came with the most incredible staff. They went above and beyond to make sure the venue looked the exact way that we imagined and made sure the entire day ran perfectly. Not only did we have a wedding that looked the way we dreamed it would, but we also felt so supported on our big day! Because of this I felt completely stress-free on our wedding day and was able to just enjoy the day instead of worrying about all the details.
How long have you been together?
We have been together for just under two years, but we’ve known each other since we were little kids. I was 10-years-old when we met, and Ian was 8!
How did the proposal go?
We actually had a messy proposal that we still laugh about, but it was perfect for us. Our entire relationship was long distance while I lived in California, and Ian was stationed in North Carolina. About 5 months into us dating, I went out to visit him in NC, and we went out to dinner in a little beach town nearby. Our plan was to eat dinner, then go for a romantic walk along the beach. Dinner ended up being a complete disaster, and we were still waiting to order while the sun was almost done setting. Ian ended up suggesting that we just leave the restaurant and go for a walk instead. We made it to the beach just in time to catch the end of the most beautiful sunset, and when I turned to look out at the water, he got down on one knee and proposed. It ended up being perfect timing! By the time we finished, we were starving and ate Zaxby’s in the car while we called our friends and family. Not the most romantic dinner, but definitely makes for a funny memory!
What is your favorite memory together?
Other than our wedding, our favorite memory is definitely the first time we reconnected after not talking for several years. Even though we grew up together, we grew apart after high school. We were both in Santa Clarita visiting our families for Easter and ended up spending 5 hours at a Del Taco catching up. We had the best time, and I knew, when we left that I never wanted to stop talking to him ever again.
What do you both do for a living?
My husband is a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, and I’m a chief executive assistant.
Who said “I love you first”?
Ian said “I love you first”. It was actually our first time seeing each other in person after we’d been dating long distance for several months.
What is your most favorite thing about each other?
My favorite thing about Ian is his loyalty. He is such an incredible husband, friend, and brother. If you are loved by Ian, he loves you and supports you for life and never wavers! Ian said, “My favorite thing about Jacey is she’s beautiful on the inside and the outside. She’s thoughtful, selfless, caring, and so unapologetically herself.”
What was the theme of your wedding?
Our theme was neutral, modern. I wanted something classic that would really work with any neutral colors and decorations. The venue itself was so beautifully decorated already, that I didn’t feel like I needed to add too much to make it have the modern feel that we wanted.
Did you have a special officiant, i.e a family member, best friend?
Brian Bixler was our officiant. He is a family friend for both of us and actually officated my sister’s wedding too! He did such an amazing job for my sister and cared so deeply about telling her love story. We knew he would care so much about both of us and make our day feel so special, which he absolutely did!
