Barbara Myler an inspiration to all…
Born and raised in SoCal, Barbara Myler has worked hard to make a name for herself in our community from the moment she moved to Santa Clarita in 1980. Barbara is a Renaissance woman, accumulating an impressive list of personal and professional achievements here in our community, and as she can tell you herself, every day brings something new.
Barbara is blessed to be the mother of four children and “Grandma Bubbe” of 12 grandchildren. She’s a woman who emphasizes her love for family and faith above all else, and you can see it in every aspect of her life.
She’s also a breast cancer thriver, crediting her faith, family and friends with helping support her through her more difficult days.
She loves sports and is a World Champion International Ballroom Dancer.
With a Bachelors in Business/Finance from BYU, Barbara started her career as a financial advisor, then co-owner of a commercial construction company. Establishing her consulting firm, Summit West Public Relations & Marketing in 1998 was a natural evolution of her professional mission.
Additionally, Barbara is the founding owner/producer of our very own Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert Series, launched back in 1999. Over the past 20+ years, the concerts have become part of the fabric of this community, providing world-class music, while supporting both the business community and more than 50 local non-profits.
“I instantly felt at home here in the Santa Clarita Valley. The family-oriented community and thriving commerce component inspired me to get involved,” she says. “I started volunteering with local non-profits, attending Chamber events, and working on community projects.”
Barbara wants to continue to learn, grow, serve others and to visit loved ones throughout the world, as well as to generally “play more”. She’s looking forward to dancing, golfing, traveling, and enjoying all that life has to offer in the post-pandemic world.
“The opportunities to connect with people and organizations has blessed my life in so many ways and locks me into this amazing community,” she says. “My goal is to continue to support these efforts, and work to create a legacy of kindness, success, joy, and happiness for generations to come.”
