He plays the role of Pesto, Wyatt’s best friend whose parents own the local arcade in the Disney XD’s live-action “bro-comedy” series, Crash & Bernstein.   He also had a recurring role as young Nick on the Golden Globe and Emmy nominated comedy series New Girl.  Add several commercials to his list of credits, and you have the fun loving 14-year-old actor and Santa Clarita resident, Aaron R. Landon.
“I started acting when I was really young,” states Aaron, “and I love every bit of it.”

Aaron landed the role of Pesto on the Disney XD series just last year.  “I auditioned for the role, and went to a series of callbacks at Disney.  After months of waiting, I finally got a call back and was casted.  We filmed the pilot in January, but it wasn’t until about six months later when I found out the role of Pesto would remain mine, and the pilot aired in October of 2012.”
Set in Portland Oregon, Crash & Bernstein is a series following 12-year-old Wyatt Bernstein, played by actor Cole Jensen, who is the only son among four kids, whose new puppet, Crash, comes to life.  Crash is dubbed as the “loud mouthed surrogate brother who knows no limits” who helps break Wyatt out of his shell, and likewise Wyatt shows Crash what life is like as a kid.  Pesto, played by Aaron, is Wyatt’s best friend who works at the local arcade.

“When you play a character, you’re going to bring a little bit of you as well as your interpretation of the role to the stage” states Aaron.  “I’m used to playing Pesto now, so it is not quite as challenging to get into the character’s head as it used to be.” A Monday through Friday job, Aaron has been filming for the show since mid July of 2012, with the season ending last month.  “We are a big family here,” states Aaron.  “We are really lucky here.  The cast and crew are really nice to work with.”
How does the actor manage school and work?
“I’m in the ninth grade,” states Aaron.  “I have a studio teacher and am part of a program within my district.  We go to a couple of meetings and take finals just like every other kid.”
Aaron began his acting career at a very young age.  “I started doing local plays within the community,” states Aaron, “and have always enjoyed it.”  Early on, Aaron worked with people who were incredibly supportive and encouraging, who have helped him along the way.
Along with working on Crash & Bernstein and playing the recurring role of Kid Nick in the hit show New Girl on FOX TV, Aaron has been seen on Showtime’s House of Lies as well as Young Irving Thalberg in Paul Merton’s Birth of Hollywood for the BBC.
In addition to being a working actor and student, Aaron is also an accomplished singer.  In 2012, he was the youngest nominated for Best Male Vocalist for the 2012 LA Music Awards, which he went on to win. Aaron also placed in the top 19 out of over 40,000 submissions for the new singing television show, Majors and Minors, which aired on the HUB Network.  “The highlight of the process was when Gene Simmons and KISS members snuck up behind me on stage and began singing their song, Beth, with me.  I’ll never forget that feeling!” states Aaron.
Aaron also won Best Pop Rock Artist by RK Records, Best Male Vocalist Rising Star at Hollywood Rock the Mic, and took first place at Santa Clarita Valley’s Most Talented Performers Competition.  “I love music, and my parents have always been very supportive of my singing, but if I had to choose between acting and singing, right now I’m leaning towards acting.”
Recently, Aaron traveled out of state, sharing his journey of how he started in the industry, mentoring other aspiring actors. “I was really excited to inspire and help other kids pursue their dreams, just as I have done so.”
Crash & Bernstein airs Mondays 8:30 p.m., ET/PT on  Disney XD. To learn more about Aaron, visit www.aaronlandon.biz.
