Getting to Know Include Everyone Project
Our Mission
To provide creative spaces that encourage all members of the community to come together while embracing those with disabilities. We support our disabled artists’ social and emotional growth while encouraging them to explore and learn all aspects of the arts in a supportive, positive, and
inclusive environment. Simultaneously, we strive to provide a respite of support, self-care, and socialization for the people who love them.
What We Strive to Achieve
• Performing Art Classes for all abilities
• Self-care workshops and classes for caregivers
• Social events that are inclusive and strengthen community (including special fundraising events, family dance party nights, family drum circles and jam sessions, creation nights for visual arts, picnics, movie nights)
• Providing support and resources to our disabled community
Include Everyone Project SCV is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Federal Tax Identification #84-4709790.
Inclusive Performing Arts
Adaptive Movement: Using elements of Autism Movement Therapy®, movement games, and classical dance styles students will gain knowledge of where their bodies are in space. They will be physically active while learning to express themselves through movement. Self-expression and communication thrive through this non-verbal art form that is dance!
Adaptive Theater: Using the first rule of Improv (YES, AND!) we encourage play while exploring emotions as we build skills in listening, verbal and non-verbal expression, and using the imagination in a safe, fun environment.
Adaptive Music: Students will explore a variety of musical genres, including Blues, Rock, Hip Hop and World Music, and will use instruments to learn the basics of each. Classes will each focus on learning a specific musical skill (rhythm, melody, etc) that students will use with the assistance of a Music Therapist to eventually create their own composition by the end of the session.
Who We Are And What We Are Doing In Santa Clarita To Serve Our Community:
“The Include Everyone Project has provided my 8 year old daughter with meaningful opportunities to participate in performing arts classes. My daughter Isla, along with many other kids in the Santa Clarita Valley, struggles to participate in typical music, dance, and acting classes for a variety of reasons. The IEP Instructors are not only patient and kind, but well versed in handling behaviors and helping children of all abilities thrive in their classes. All children deserve the opportunity to be exposed to the performing arts, and I’m so grateful IEP provides the opportunity not only for fun classes but also the chance for my daughter and kids like her to perform their newly learned skilled in front of family and friends.” – Ariana Lapierre, parent
Making Community Connections Through The Arts…
The Include Everyone Project’s long term goal is to have a community center and performance space where all members of our disabled community have a safe place to express themselves, explore their creativity, practice their social skills, and grow into the creative forces they were meant to be.
While the artists blossom we aim to encourage those that love them to take time to focus on their own self-care by offering wellness classes, having resources available to them in one central location, and by forming a supportive community that extends past these walls and into the Santa Clarita Valley.
While we grow toward this big picture goal we offer inclusive events, performing arts classes for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Prader-Will Syndrome, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorder physical disabilities and all differently abled members of the Santa Clarita Community, an annual summer camp for our artists, and performance opportunities!
We have begun our outreach program by bringing sensory friendly spaces to community events.
We have big dreams here at IEPSCV, we hope you’ll be apart of them! Email us for board member and volunteer opportunities or click the donate button to make a charitable contribution.
“I am so grateful this program exists. My son is very outgoing and loves to perform so I’m glad he has a place where he is accepts and allowed to be himself on stage.”
