Established in 1959 by passionate parents seeking a brighter future for their children, LARC was founded on the principles of opportunity, growth, friendship, and a sense of community. LARC has evolved from a small dorm-like setting to a thriving, inclusive environment, encompassing modern residential homes, diverse amenities, and enriching programs that empower individuals with special needs to live their lives to the fullest.
At LARC, we believe in nurturing potential and providing personalized care tailored to each individual’s needs. Our journey has been marked by milestones, including the development of the LARC Villas, the establishment of various social and recreational activities, and the formation of resident councils that encourage active participation and decision-making.
As we grow alongside the Santa Clarita Valley, LARC remains committed to fostering a sense of belonging and purpose for our residents. Our dedicated team, comprehensive facilities, and transformative approach continue to make LARC an exemplary model for empowering and supporting those with developmental disabilities. Our History
LARC Ranch was established in 1959 with a steadfast commitment: to empower individuals by creating opportunities together. Our dedication to this mission remains unwavering, driving us to continually strive for growth and inclusion within our community. In 1994, they expanded post-earthquake leads to modern residential facilities and amenities. In 2001, they moved to LARC Villas, fostering pride and independence among residents. In 2024 and beyond our residents thrive! Engaging in cooking, household responsibilities, and social activities.
L.A.R.C. Industries’ Day Training Activity
Center (DTAC)
DTAC offers a program for developmentally disabled adults focusing on personal growth and job skill development. Participants learn workplace skills like time management, responsibility, and behavior while engaging in critical thinking and creativity. Fitness activities, emotional support, and team-building exercises promote physical and emotional well-being. DTAC also supports independent living with personalized training and fosters communication and self-care skills, preparing participants for a fulfilling future.
LARC’s Adult Developmental Center (ADC)
LARC’s ADC provides personalized care in a supportive environment, focusing on intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development. Participants engage in adaptive physical activities, language development, and socialization through community outings and on-site events. Activities like puzzles and computer training help build motor skills and problem-solving abilities. The center ensures individualized care, empowering participants to lead enriching lives.
LARC’s Residential Program
LARC’s Residential Program offers 13 modern homes with 24/7 care from trained staff. Residents participate in social activities like visits to museums and theme parks, and enjoy personal care services like haircuts and manicures. Meals are tailored to dietary needs by a licensed dietitian. Community spaces encourage social connections, and specialized care is provided for residents with varying needs, ensuring a fulfilling and supportive environment.
