Getting to know Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley/American Cancer Society
ABOUT US
Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley is the local community fundraising and awareness event for the American Cancer Society (ACS). Through Relay, we bring together neighbors, schools, businesses, caregivers, cancer survivors, volunteers, and community partners to raise funds that support lifesaving cancer research, patient services, prevention efforts, education, and advocacy. Relay For Life is part of a nationwide movement that empowers people to take action against cancer in their own community and beyond.
Who We Are
Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley embodies the American Cancer Society’s mission to end cancer as we know it, for everyone. Our event celebrates cancer survivors, honors those we’ve lost, and fuels action to help save lives from cancer. Each year, participants of all ages form teams, walk to fundraise, and engage in community activities that elevate awareness about cancer prevention and support those impacted by the disease.
Because Relay For Life is a community-powered event, every dollar raised here in the Santa Clarita Valley stays local first, helping fund the ACS’s programs and services that directly benefit people facing cancer in our community and nationwide.
Next Event
Relay For Life of Santa Clarita Valley returns on May 2 for a meaningful community event supporting the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. This family friendly gathering brings together survivors, caregivers, volunteers, businesses, and neighbors to celebrate life, remember loved ones, and raise funds for research, patient services, education, and advocacy. A moving Luminaria Ceremony honors those affected by cancer and inspires hope across our community. Learn more or register at www.SCVRelay.org today.
Our Mission
Relay For Life events exist to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and fight back against cancer by raising vital funds and awareness. Funds raised help:
Support cancer research toward better treatments and prevention methods.
Provide free patient services like transportation to treatment, lodging near treatment centers, the 24/7 helpline, support groups, and educational resources.
Advocate for policies that reduce cancer risk and promote equitable access to care.
Celebrate
Relay events are family friendly and include activities for everyone. Participants can enjoy entertainment, games, team campsites, food, and community engagement. One of the most powerful moments is the Luminaria Ceremony at dusk, where decorated bags lit in memory or honor of loved ones line the track.
Participate
Join a team or start your own by registering at www.SCVRelay.org. Recruit friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors to be part of the movement. Teams walk together for hours in support of cancer research and patient services, and friendly competition often helps raise more funds and awareness.
Volunteer
Volunteer involvement is at the heart of Relay For Life. Volunteers support planning, outreach, event operations, fundraising, survivor outreach, and onsite activities. It’s a great way to make a real difference for those affected by cancer in the Santa Clarita Valley.
