Getting to know The Brittany Foundation
ABOUT US
We are nestled in the beautiful hills of Agua Dulce, CA located in the Santa Clarita Valley, and at any time could have up to 50 canine residents enjoying safe haven here with us. Each pup is settled into a kennel that we affectionately call a “room,” decked out with a small couch for lounging, a bed and igloo for snoozing, and of course blankets, toys, and most of all, space to sniff, play, and relax while they are waiting for their forever homes. A misting system keeps the rooms cool in the summer, and winterproof coverings keep our pups warm in the winter.
We offer daily enrichment, training, socialization, and care at the hands of fully vetted, caring employees and volunteers who oversee play-yard fun time and walks every day. While we hope to match each dog we rescue with the perfect forever home, if that is not meant to be, each pup will have a loving home with us for as long as they need it.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
VOLUNTEER
Volunteering is a great way to offer direct help to our dogs. You get to see first-hand the difference you’re making. We need help in all areas of our organization, so whatever you know how to do, we have a place for you!
DONATE
We have several different funds for the dogs in our care. To donate to the General Fund, please click “Donate Today” to be directed to our payment options.
To donate to a specific dog, please click “Donate Today” to be directed to our payment options and indicate the dog’s name in the “notes to seller” comment box.
RALPH’S REWARDS
Each time you shop at Ralph’s and use your Ralph’s card, you can earn money for the Brittany Foundation.
To do so, visit www.Ralphs.com and get registered.
Then follow the link for “Community Contribution,” click on “Participant,” and follow the instructions.
You will need our NPO number: GP626.
If you don’t know your Ralphs card number, just call (800) 660-9003.
ADOPTION PROCESS
To Be Considered To Adopt, You Must:
• Be 25 years of age or older.
• Have identification, and be owner or primary renter, and decision maker in home.
• Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for the rest of the dog’s life.
Adoption Application
Fill out and submit the adoption application. Please keep in mind, we consider all applications in the order they are received. We choose the best home, not the application that was received first.
Meet and Greet
After your application is approved, you will be contacted to schedule a meeting with the dog you are interested in. Of course you can meet several dogs if you would like. Everyone living in the home must attend and agree upon adopting.
Video and Pictures
If you would like to move forward after meeting the dog you are interested in, please email a short video of your home or send photos including indoor and outdoor area. All yards must be fenced, free of debris and completely secure.
Home Check
While a home visit is required prior to placement, it does not guarantee adoption. We need to see where our dogs will be living, which gives us peace of mind they will be in a safe secure environment and be living as loved family members.
Adoption Contract
Sign the adoption contract. This is a binding agreement between the adopter and The Brittany Foundation.
Adoption Fee
In many cases, we have already spent hundreds of dollars on vet bills and care for each dog. The donation helps us recoup a small fraction of those costs and helps us cover costs of new dogs we will rescue. There is a $300 to $500 adoption fee. All dogs will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and be current on vaccinations prior to adoption. You will also receive a welcome package, that includes; food, collar, leash, toys and a blanket.
