Getting to Know Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley
Vision
Founded in 1974, Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is a dynamic organization of professional women working together to advance the status of women and girls in the Santa Clarita Valley and around the world.
The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is a proud member of Zonta International, an organization with more than 29,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta clubs in 61 countries and geographical areas. Zonta International has consultative status with the United Nations and is the means by which we participate in service projects around the world.
Who We Are
Service. Advocacy. Awareness.
The Zonta Club of the Santa Clarita Valley brings these three elements of our international mission to life in ways that directly serve our community.
Leadership
Our members are leaders in our local community and within the Zonta International community. Many of the members of our local club hold leadership positions in a number of community-based organizations in the SCV, are present and past public office holders, own businesses, and sit on local school governing boards. Within Zonta International, our local members have served at all levels of our Area, District and International community.
Zonta International
Envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.
In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision making positions on an equal basis with men.
In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.
Z Clubs and Golden Z Clubs
To truly change the lives of women and girls globally now and for generations to come, we must invest in youth development and mentor young leaders for gender equality. Zonta International believes young people are critical to achieving gender equality and ending violence against women and girls around the world.
Through the Z and Golden Z Club program, Zonta members work to bring Zonta International’s mission to students around the world and to stimulate new and meaningful student-led service and advocacy projects.
Z clubs are formed on secondary school campuses or in communities, and Golden Z clubs are formed on college and university campuses. These student clubs are designed to provide opportunities for young adults to develop communication and leadership skills, explore career alternatives, and increase their international awareness and understanding through service.
Lifeforward Workshop
Our Lifeforward workshop sessions are created to assist in self-care, create empathetic communities connected with understanding, and to practice communication skills to have connected relationships with our loved ones.
The workshops will be facilitated by Evelia Scanlon and Stephanie Garrison, who are experienced facilitators in AWBW (A Window Between Worlds), healthy relationships, parenting, and support through difficult situations like experiencing domestic violence.
Workshops Will Resume in Fall 2025!
