Local Charities Receive $100,000 from Logix Community Stars
Logix Federal Credit Union announced today that its employee-run nonprofit foundation, Logix Community Stars, distributed $100,000 to five local charities this month: Carousel Ranch, Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Penny Lane Centers, For The Troops and Senior Concerns. The charities are able to allocate these dollars for programs and services to support their clients.
“The Logix team is dedicated to the community and being a good corporate partner,” said Leticia Meza- Guerrero, SVP of Retail Banking and Loan Center. “Our mission is to help our members thrive, and that also is our goal in the community – to help local nonprofit organizations succeed, giving support to those who need it most. Carousel Ranch plays an important role in Santa Clarita, as they support their students with specialized care – unique to each student.”
This month, Logix hosted a check presentation, and set a record for most Logix employees in a check presentation photo. Of the dollars distributed, Carousel Ranch received $12,500.
“We are so fortunate to be one of Logix Community Stars nonprofit partners,” Executive Director Taylor Adachi said. “These dollars will support a full range of programs and services to support our students. In August, Logix employees will be volunteering with us, and we’re thrilled to have them meet our team and see our ranch; it will be their second time this year spending time making a difference with us through their Volunteer Time Off program. Their staff members are committed to delivering financial support, as well as sharing their time to connect with our mission.”
Giving back is part of the credit union’s culture. Community Stars is a nonprofit foundation created by Logix staff. The organization has been serving local charities through financial contributions and volunteerism since 2007. Since that time, the foundation has raised more than $2 million for local nonprofits that support the communities they serve.
Annually, the foundation board reviews charities to support in each of the communities served by Logix. The credit union’s employees donate via payroll deductions through Community Stars’ Contributions Program and fundraising events; Logix provides matching dollars for this program. To round out the contributions, For The Troops, Burbank Temporary Aid Center and Penny Lane Centers received
$25,000 each, and Senor Concerns accepted $12,500, as it’s another new addition. For more information Logix and its services, visit www.lfcu.com. To learn about Community Stars, visit www.custars.org.
