Once A G3-er, Always A G3-er
The Generation 3 Band, best known by their fan-given acronym ‘G3,’ first joined the Santa Clarita Valley in 2006 by performing weekly in Valencia with the Real Life Church Worship Team. They’ve been around for nearly two decades and frequent many local stages, from Wine 661, The Backyard Grub N’ Brews, SENSES on Main Street to Salt Creek Grille where they’ve performed at eight consecutive New Year’s Eve celebrations. Their catalog includes a variety of cover songs: “from Frank Sinatra to today,” as the band members describe.
G3 is more than a cover band – “it’s like a family.” There are seven official members of G3: Founding member (Drummer/Vocalist) John “JP” Pinto, (Vocalist) Dana Schmidt, (Vocalist/Keyboards) David “Tewks” Tewksbury, (Guitarist/Vocalist) Ruben Reza, (Guitarist/Vocalist) Randy Salzer, (Vocalist) Karen Lee Ornelas and (Bassist/Vocalist) D. Jennings. Though not every band member is guaranteed to be at every performance (there may be guest performers, too!), they each bring a unique flair to the band. Depending on the venue, the vibe, or whoever in the group is available, G3 is guaranteed to deliver an entertaining performance. The band was born from churchmates of three separate generations, all coming together for the love of music and worship. All the band members have extensive and longtime music backgrounds.
