Popular Wedding Looks
A wedding dress is one of the most important pieces of clothing in your lifetime. Women from all over take a considerable amount of time in deciding what to wear on their big day, with influence from current fashion trends and old traditions. We have compiled a sample of popular styles to help you in deciding a fabulous look on the big day.
1. High Neck Dresses
Modesty and class combine to form the traditional high-neck wedding dress that has grown increasingly popular within the last few years. With the option to include sleeves or go sleeveless, the mock neck style of these dresses give the bride many avenues for customization, and this style in particular allows the bride to show off her collarbones and shoulders without having to opt for full gown sleeve.
2. Off the Shoulder Dresses
For those who want to fully flaunt their features, the popular off-the-shoulder style gives the bride the freedom of displaying her collarbone and shoulders, without having to sacrifice the elegance of beautifully embroidered sleeves. This dress features elbow-length, patterned sleeves over a transparent fabric (a definite staple among modern wedding day attire), and combines the best of grace and grandeur for an alluring finished look.
3. Sweetheart Neckline Dress
The sweetheart neckline is a timeless trend amongst wedding dresses everywhere, merging style and straightforwardness for brides across the globe. The sweetheart neckline is the perfect Segway between sleeveless and scoop-neckline dresses, with the top-half of the dress resembling a heart, hence the name. This neckline style adds a little extra “pizzazz” and ornamentation to an otherwise more modest, simple dress, making it one of the most popular features of many modern wedding dresses.
4. Sheath Dresses
Popular among tall and petite women alike, the sheath-style wedding dress features a more conservative shape, flowing more freely towards the bottom of the bride’s figure. This style of dress offers more freedom of movement in comparison to the mermaid-style dress, and is popular as a result of its form-fitting shape and infinite capacity for customization. This type of dress is ideal for those who desire the allure of a form-fitting dress, but would prefer a more natural or flowy train as the dress reaches the floor.
5. Three-Quarter Length Sleeve Dresses
A lasting favorite among bridal attire is the 3/4 sleeve dress. Whether you opt for transparent or opaque fabric, the 3/4 sleeve is the perfect way to combine the sensibility of modesty and the freedom of movement within your dream dress, and can be added to a sweetheart neckline or straight-across neckline to add a little embellishment to the piece overall. This style received a boost in popularity after the newest Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, opted for the classic ¾ sleeve style in her own wedding in May of last year.
