SANTA CLARITA’S OLYMPIANS Brittany Cervantes
Newhall native Brittany Cervantes’ athletic journey started out early, with her first official foray into softball taking place during her time at Chaminade College Preparatory School in Chatsworth. Alongside the rest of her team, Brittany snagged two C.I.F. softball championships, and she later went on to play college softball at the University of Kentucky after graduating from high school. It was here that she stepped into the world of professional softball and subsequently became the first ever softball player at UK to qualify to compete in the Olympics – a huge step towards advancing her softball career. In this year’s Olympics, she participated as a representative of Mexico’s softball team, where she made it to the bronze medal game against Canada alongside her fellow Mexico softball team. Undeniable, Brittany has left an impact on both her high school and college communities, and the future holds even more opportunities for her softball success.
