SCV Resident Collin Fowler Author of The Oxford Chronicles
Collin Fowler has always stood out – he was the class clown, the popular guy everyone would look to for a good story and a great laugh. His love for telling jokes led to a love for telling stories and enjoying the reactions from his audience. After he discovered the world of screenwriting and movies as a child, he set out on a path to turn those funny childhood and school age memories into meaningful stories to be passed on to others.
Collin was born in Connecticut but later moved to Florida with his family at a young age. It was at school in Florida that he got his first taste of “grown up” storytelling – he and his friends would write and film their own stories on a used camera in his own backyard, and when he moved back to Connecticut at the age of 10, the storytelling didn’t stop.
He later graduated with degree in English Literature from the University of South Florida at Tampa, and it was during his college years that he traded in his dream of movie making for the world of the written word.
After he met his wife (now of 20 years) after he graduated, the two of them ventured out to L.A., known for its TV and movie industry. Here he enrolled at Studio Arts, a creative school that led him to take the biggest leap of his career thus far: to write and publish his own book.
His book, titled The Oxford Chronicles, tells the story of a quirky group of friends living through high school in the 80s, and is influenced by his own eccentric school year experiences.
The Oxford Chronicles was independently published in May 2021 and is currently publicly available for purchase on Amazon.
Nowadays, Collin is working to bring the book to life on the big screen, which he hopes will take The Oxford Chronicles that much further.
You can find Collin online on Facebook and Instagram under his full name, and can find more information about him and his inspiration for The Oxford Chronicles at www.oxfordchronicles.com.
