In the wake of tragedy, though, comes relief, and we want to help.  Japan has often donated when other countries have experienced such natural disasters, even when Hurricane Katrina impacted our southern states.  Let’s turn this tragedy into one of hope.  If you or your business is helping with the relief efforts to assist those victimized by Japan’s earthquake and tsunami, we would like to help you get the word out.  Let’s raise awareness and funds for those who have been tragically affected.  Contact our associate editor, Stephanie Struyck Elgin (ext. 103) as soon as possible to help get the word out.
On a lighter note, we are so delighted to feature K-EARTH 101’s on air radio host, Bob Malik on the cover of this issue of élite Magazine.  Bob has been delivering the news to K-EARTH 101 listeners for nearly 10 years and also shares his love for the Beatles nationwide as part of The Beatle Years, which airs on Sundays at 9 a.m. locally.  Read more about the talented radio host and how he made his way to Hollywood from the farms of Modesto in our cover story.

The Amgen Tour is back in Santa Clarita!  Get ready, as professional cyclists will return to our city for the fourth time on May 22.  Santa Clarita will host the start of the final stage of the race with riders racing to the overall finish in Thousand Oaks and completing more than 800 miles of an eight-day event. ?We, at élite Magazine and The Magazine of Santa Clarita, are pleased to be a part of this event.  Prime Publications, Inc. have partnered up with the City of Santa Clarita and will be producing the official program for this year’s Amgen Tour.  
We are so pleased to present the first annual Ultimate Elite Awards 2011. We have asked our readers to nominate their Ultimate Dining choices, and we have received hundreds of entries!  Keep voting, as we will also be presenting the Ultimate in Beauty Choices as well as Ultimate in Home Services.  Winners will be announced in upcoming issues of élite Magazine and will culminate at a special Awards Ceremony in December.
We have highlighted many of the wonderful events that have taken place in our Valley over the last few months in our Crème de la Crème features.  The generosity of our community members and their involvement with non-profit organizations simply amazes us.
