Remo and Ami Belli’s love story began in the mid 70’s…at the doctor’s office, to be exact. He was a patient and founder of Remo, Inc, and she was a medical practitioner who had been practicing alternative medicine for many years.
Just a few years after they had met, the two were married in Las Vegas, followed by a larger ceremony in Los Angeles in 1979. “We were so comfortable with each other, we just decided to get married.”

She is humble in her thoughts and is especially honest and trustworthy.” Remo continues, “We respect and accept one another, and represent each other very well. In addition to all of that, Ami is a very good cook…What else is there to want?” Ami’s love and adoration for her husband is evident as she states, “Remo is the most down to earth, kind, humble helpful and loving guy. He is a good partner and best friend that one could ever have. He is the love of my life, mi amore.” Just as Remo and Ami’s love blossomed for one another, so too did their love for music, medicine and making the world a better place to live. As CEO and Founder of the world renowned drumhead company, Remo, Inc., Remo took his love for music and health and collaborated with his wife and her knowledge and passion for alternative medicine. It was a recipe for success, and in 2000, Remo and Ami established the HealthRHYTHMS division of Remo, Inc. to promote the use of music and drum-based therapeutic strategies. “I am a physician who loves music,” states Ami. “Remo is a musician (drummer) who is health conscious. As an integrative alternative medicine doctor, the use of rhythm and music came together.” Ami uses her training as a medical practitioner to communicate with doctors and healthcare officials all over the globe, transforming musical instruments into medical tools. The Bellis are involved with many non-profit organizations, most of which are involved with the use of percussion associated with health issues like drumming for brain relaxation and stimulation, and other brain activities. The couple also funds grant studies for at-risk children. “If we can make a difference in someone’s life, we have been given an experience that will last a lifetime. It is a good feeling to be able to do this.” On March 1, Remo and Ami will be honored for their giving spirit and dedication to making the world a better place to live in through music and medicine at the College of the Canyons Foundation’s Silver Spur Celebration. “We are deeply honored that our work has been recognized. This event will be great, as we will be seeing and meeting new friends.” “Remo and Ami have touched thousands of lives through music,” states College of the Canyons Chancellor Dr. Dianne Van Hook. “Whether inspiring students and enabling them to express their creativity through sound, or healing minds and bodies with the therapeutic power of drumming, their dedication to improving the human condition has been felt around the world.” 2014 Silver Spur Celebration ‘Music and Medicine’ Honoring Remo and Ami BelliOn Saturday, March 1 at 6 p.m. |
