Success and inspiration seem to be an underlying theme of the stories in this issue of élite.  Meet the man on our cover, Nigel Lythgoe, who is most recognized for being the creator, executive producer and regular judge of So You Think You Can Dance.  Take a moment to read about his life as he danced his way to success.  Nigel will be making his way to Santa Clarita as the keynote speaker at the Ladies in Business Conference on Friday, May 15 at the Hyatt Valencia. 

 
After months of preparation, we are very pleased to present the first Santa Clarita Valley Ladies in Business Conference.  This event will be a day of fun, as there will be many guest speakers to entertain, inspire and motivate.  We are very excited to have Susan Beavers, co-executive producer of the number one hit television show Two and a Half Men open the day’s event.  Learn more about the guest speakers in this month’s Ladies in Business feature.

The stars will shine as élite Magazine, The Magazine of Santa Clarita and Bellasport are pleased to present the first “Dancing With Our Stars” event that will take place on Saturday, April 18 at the Hyatt Valencia.  Santa Clarita’s very own have teamed up with the professionals to dance the night away to raise money to benefit 12 local non-profit organizations.  It’s a sold out event, but you can still participate by way of proxy votes.  Visit www.scvstars.org to cast your vote.

There’s an abundance of fun events going on in Santa Clarita this April and May.  Come join the Betty Ferguson Foundation, as they will host their Eighth Annual Vine 2 Wine event at the Bridgeport Lake Club on Sunday, April 5.  Giddyup, and get those cowboy hats and boots out for the City of Santa Clarita’s Cowboy Festival taking place on April 22 through 26 at Melody Ranch.  Be sure and get your taste buds ready for the 21st Annual Taste of the Town on Sunday, May 3 to benefit the Child & Family Center and also the SCV Wine Classic on Saturday, May 30 to raise funds for the SCV Youth Orchestra.   There’s something for everyone so make sure to mark your calendars for these wonderful events!
