This time of year also brings us many special events.  On the calendar this issue you will find all sorts of festivities from wine festivals such as All Corked Up and the 2nd Annual TPC/West Ranch Art and Wine Gala to a fun and exciting casino night with The Painted Turtle.  There are many fashion events to help support worthy causes such as The Soroptimist International of Santa Clarita Valley’s Bras for a Cause in October and Henry Mayo’s Sunday at the Moulin Rouge Fashion Show in November.  You will find more details on the calendar in The Concierge section.
We are pleased to feature Judge Graciela Freixes on the cover of this issue of élite.  Judge Freixes is the presiding judge of the Santa Clarita Superior Court.  Read about this amazing lady and her inspiring story, as she traveled from Havana, Cuba to Miami and became the first female Cuban-American judge. 
They’re all girls, all rock and roll.  Meet the members of Cherri Bomb, a high-energy rock and roll band consisting of four pre-teen talented girls who have entertained audiences with their powerful vocals and rock and roll tunes. 
Be sure and get a glimpse of Santa Clarita’s very own, professional rider Damon Huffman, who was one of six riders chosen to represent the United States in the prestigious 84-year-old International Six Days Enduro that will be taking place this October in Portugal.  Damon is a two-time Supercross champ, has one World Supercross title and took first place at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas.  His dedication to the sport has lead him to many successful victories and we wish him the best in Portugal.  
If you’re in the mood for a laugh, be sure and read our feature on comedian Mark Eddie.  Mark is a musical stand-up comedian who has produced many promos and jingles for popular shows and has been featured on many radio stations.  See what inspires this funny man and learn about his amazing career. 
Five years ago the Santa Clarita Bar Association, a non-profit organization consisting of local attorneys as members, was created.  Learn about how the SCV Bar Association is working to provide networking and continuing education opportunities for lawyers as well as their involvement with the community.  In keeping with the our theme of law, check out our “Everything About Business and Law” advertisement profiles to help you find the right professional.
