We are so pleased to feature singer/songwriter and Santa Clarita resident Angel Taylor on the cover of this issue. Angel’s music is soothing to the ears and pleasant to the spirit. Her sweet melodic tunes have made her an instant success and fans around love and adore her. Talent seems to be abundant in our Valley. Capture the moment with four great musicians who make up the band, August Rising. Lay Your Hands on Me, a song from their self-titled debut CD has brought them the most recognition. You may even recognize the band as they have performed at various events in the SCV. Her beauty abounds, and we wish Alana Smith all the best as she will be representing the Santa Clarita Valley at the Miss California USA 2011 pageant this November. She’s perfectly poised and ready to take home the crown. While Alana seeks the crown, professional welterweight, boxer Sid El Harrak is looking for another knockout to add to his collection. Sid made his way from London to the Santa Clarita Valley and has been boxing since the age of 14. Read his story of determination and success in the ring. There’s a new face at the Circle of Hope and his name is Ray Tippet. Ray will be taking over as Executive Director for the Circle of Hope after a nationwide search. His experience and dedication makes him the right man for the job and we are looking forward to seeing the organization grow to the next level. Speaking of hope, Nathaniel, Tyler, Natasha and Evan are four true heroes of courage and hope, who have an endless determination to beat their disease. Their perseverance serves as an inspiration to us all, and they will be honored at this year’s SCV Light the Night Walk on October 23.
