Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire:  it is the time for home.

~Edith Sitwell

The holidays are finally here and there’s nothing better than gathering around with family and friends enjoying all the season’s festivities.  It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year, as winter in the Santa Clarita Valley brings brisk cooler days and chilly nights.

As the New Year approaches, it is also a great time to reflect on what a wonderful community we live in.  We at élite Magazine are pleased to continue to support many of the local organizations that help make our Valley a great place to live and work.
We are pleased to feature KIIS FM’s radio host JoJo Wright on the cover this issue.  JoJo makes his home here in the Santa Clarita Valley along with his wife Dena and daughter Sophie.  JoJo is famous for his radio show and is set to become television’s next breakout star.  Read more about his road to fame in our feature, JoJo on the Radio.
There will be some exciting plans and transformations for Santa Clarita this upcoming year.  Disney and ABC Studios is pleased to announce their new studio project, Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch.  Walt Disney selected Golden Oak Ranch in Placerita Canyon some 50 years ago, and now Disney | ABC Studios at The Ranch project will transform a small portion of Golden Oak Ranch into a state-of-the art soundstage and production complex. We welcome the transformation as it will also help invigorate local economy by creating many jobs during construction as well as after the facility is built.  What a great opportunity for Santa Claritans!
It’s no surprise that there are many talented people who call our Valley home.  Thirteen-year-old actor, Braeden Lemasters is a young star who plays Ray Romano’s son in the upcoming TNT series Men of a Certain Age.  Read more about the budding star. Another actor living the charmed life is Jonathan Aubé.  Jonathan has played many roles on daytime soaps as well as made appearances on television shows such as Beverly Hills 90210 and Charmed, to name a few.
We are continuously amazed at the talented artists who live in our Valley.  Meet local painter, Nancy Eckels, whose artwork has been featured on television shows.   Her paintings have even made their way to Stanford University and exhibited to the public.     Take a moment to learn about another artist’s experience, award winning comic artist Joe Rubinstein.  Joe has worked with Marvel Comics and even landed in the Guinness Book of World Records.  Read more about his artistic journey to success.
With the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, we are pleased to feature our Last Minute Gift Guide to help you find the perfect gift for that special someone.  And, with the New Year comes a new you.  Bounce Back and check out some products our Fashion & Beauty editor has provided to help you regain that youthful glow with anti-aging skin care.
If you’re in the mood for some snow, be sure and check out our Great Escape feature, as we have highlighted some Winter Wonderlands just a short distance away.
This issue we are pleased to feature Everything About Religion advertisement profiles.  Learn more about the places of worship and schools highlighted.
This issue’s La Maison takes us inside the home of Byron and Sue McMichael.  Their home is beautifully decorated for the holidays and will be featured in the annual festive Holiday Home Tour sponsored by the Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.
We would like to wish you a wonderful and warm holiday season.  We look forward to bringing you the very best in news, features and entertainment that our great Valley has to offer.
