“We love to entertain our family and friends,” gushes Rose of the Westridge Estates home she shares with her husband, Steve Chegwin.  Nestled on Shadow Rock Lane, this 4,100 square foot house boasts three garages, four bedrooms, a game room and loft, all in a decidedly airy old-world feel.  Built in 2004, Rose and Steve have created their only little private paradise in the heart of Valencia with the help of interior decorator Ann Peters.

“We enjoy living out here,” Rose continues.  “We even raised our two sons Christopher and Brandon out here.” Active in the community, it is no wonder the Chegwins enjoy such a soothing home.  Steve has been a local CPA in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1968.  He also sits on the foundation for College of the Canyons.  Rose moved to Santa Clarita when she married Steve in 1984.  She sits on the foundation for Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, and is also active with the local Santa Clarita Senior Center.
Using a subtle mixture of textures, colors, and even a healthy mix of old and new, the home imbues a sense of calm serenity.   Featuring a large hand-stamped concrete patio ringed by planters full of gardenias, one could imagine a fragrant summer evening sitting on the two benches, listening to the gentle splashing of the three-tiered fountain, and being instantly transported to a Tuscan villa.
The large mahogany door gives way to a grand turreted entryway, complete with vaulted ceilings.  A large bouquet acts as an eye-catching accent, the bold colors contrasting the delicacy of the floral sprays.  To the right, Steve’s private study is complete with a palm tree; rich, dark leather contrasts boldly with rattan and hardwood.  Decadent filigreed curtains adorn the windows. Outside, there are unfathomable places to enjoy.  Multiple chaises, tables, and an outdoor fireplace provide places to lounge in comfort and relaxation around the pool.  “There are nights Steve and I sit outside and talk for hours, drinking a glass of wine,” Rose says.  “And we have great friends!”  And, a great house to share with them, making more memories…!
