Welcome to the Valencia Hills, where one comes home to escape to their own private abode.  Nestled among the trees in a quiet neighborhood, this lovely home sits removed from the hustle and bustle of the working world.  Although purchased in 2005, it was originally built in 1979; however, after much labor of love, renovations have updated it while maintaining the home’s original serenity.
The front yard is charmingly landscaped.  Set back from the street, a lush green lawn provides ample room to roam among the trees and flowers.  The home is also adorned by white roses which fragrantly and beautifully frame the walkway to the front porch.  Handmade birdhouses bespeckle the yard, a motif that continues through to the back yard.
Inside the foyer, an open staircase provides a modern approach to landings.  Accentuated by a floral spray atop a console table, this image is heightened by the dried wedding bouquet on the wall.  A dignified curio cabinet sits in the corner, its mate across from it in the gaming room; both previously owned by the classic actor, William Holden.  The crowning adornment is a classically inspired, oiled bronze chandelier punctuating the center of the expansive ceiling.
Oak floors traverse the downstairs, only interrupted by cream tiled floors in the kitchen and dining room.  An inset floor provides texture and visual diversity in the formal dining area.  In the game room, an estate-sized bookshelf holds priceless family memorabilia, all while visually complementing the pool table and card table.  Open-beamed rafters create a stunningly rustic look, hearkening to the owner’s previous home in Lake Arrowhead.  Leopard print adds a subtle accent to the room, blending seamlessly with the earthly tones of the room.
In the family room, comfy leather sofas provide plenty of space for relaxing.  Used creatively, the room has been separated into a French conversation sitting area and television viewing area.  Racy and sophisticated red ties the area together.  Also in the room is a bar for entertaining, topped with granite counters and glass backsplash for diversity, while creating a characteristic bar feel.  A door leads down to the private wine cellar, well stocked for those late night parties!  All the while, the player piano sits in the corner, begging guests to sit and take in a tune with their drink while perusing the family portraits.
The kitchen is large, to say the least!  Dark cabinets are contrasted against the antiqued white center island.  Ample space is provided by the buttery granite counters, providing plenty of prep area for family potlucks and party platters when entertaining.  Stainless appliances add modern touches, while the bay window affords a wonderful view of the backyard.
Of course, one cannot visit this home without taking notice of the yard.  Boasting a deck, covered patio, a large pool, two separate spas, four separate waterfalls, and two fire pits, there is no shortage of areas to gather around and socialize with one’s guests.  There is an outdoor kitchen if you prefer to mingle with company while preparing the meal.  Quiet and peaceful, pine trees hearken again to the owner’s previous home in Lake Arrowhead.
However, if you are enjoying the yard singly or partnered, one word comes to mind: relaxing!  Take in the view from the deck of the neighboring hills, or prefer instead to watch the Valencia golf course.  Whatever you are doing, whether with guests, with your husband or wife, or by yourself, this home provides all the tranquility you need!
