The grand opening of the world’s largest Bruce Munro installation – an enormous, walk-through “Field of Light,” launching the first phase of a new Paso Roble destination, Sensorio. Transforming 15 acres of Sensorio’s planned extensive grounds, Field of Light offers a surreal experience for guests, who will be able to wander through an array of more than 58,800 multi-hued fiber-optic stems, which illuminate the landscape in color-changing waves. Smithsonian Magazine has called Munro’s work “stunning,” while The Guardian noted, “This is art you feel, rather than art you view.” The Huffington Post said, “It can be hard to describe in words the gifts that Munro bestows on the landscape as his work escapes description in either written or photographic form, it is something to be experienced.” Powered by solar energy, this breathtaking artwork will be the artist’s largest Field of Light to date. The largest preceding this was installed in 2016 in Uluru, Northern Territories in Australia, where it was met with instant international acclaim. Involving 326 miles of optic fiber, it has been seen by over 200,000 guests and will remain on display through December 2020. For Sensorio, Munro will create an even larger field, offering visitors an unparalleled experience of immersing themselves in a breathtaking sensory realm. Photo credit: Mark Pickthall
