I was at a wedding where the bridesmaid gave a toast and included, “well a lot of people said you shouldn’t get involved with this guy, especially my sister and his last two wives, but after last night, I am really glad you two are getting married.”  #worstweddingtoast

Unbeknownst to my girlfriend of four years, a friend tipped me off about caricature artists at Disneyland who will illustrate a proposal for you.  I made a call to Disney concierge, and they assisted with the details to pull off the illusion of a routine character drawing that ultimately became the surprise proposal.  They even incorporated a “Once Upon A Time” fairytale theme based on our favorite television series.
I also arranged for her sister and brother-in-law to hideout at the park in separate locations until the moment I proposed.  And at that moment, they were to appear behind her and place Minnie bridal ears on her head, adding to her elation.  My best friend would also be hiding in a nearby shop, with camera in hand, to capture the moment.  Throughout the planning, I kept in touch with the best friend of my future Mrs., who would be joining us on the Disneyland trip as if it was an ordinary day in the park.
When the moment arrived to pop the question, the artist revealed the canvas, displaying “Will You Marry Me?”  I knew what her answer would be, but I didn’t expect the support of the crowd, who also shared in our joy with their own tears of joy.

I met my husband back home in Lebanon on June 22, 2004, at my uncle’s house.  Our first date was the next day, and we had dinner after work.  By then, he was already asking me how should we resolve our “issue.” And by “issue,” he meant what should we do?  The following day I was busy at work and could not see him.  Friday I left on my lunch break to go tell my best friend about this new guy I met, which I liked.  When I returned, he was at my workplace.
I got permission from my boss to take the day off and have some time together because he was leaving Lebanon the following morning to return to the U.S.  But he called his boss to extend his stay for an additional week.  So we got engaged on Sunday June 27, 2004 – five days after we met.
He flew back to the states on July 2 and started my paperwork as his fiancé.  I came to the US on January 25, 2005, and we decided to get married on Valentine’s Day.  This year, we will celebrate our 11th anniversary.  Happily married since then.  #loveatfirstsight
