Bringing More Helpful Choices With Troy Hooper
Entrepreneur, Community Leader, husband, and new father; Troy Hooper is making waves in the food services industry with his newest venture.
Troy moved to the Santa Clarita Valley five years ago with his wife Erin to lead a turnaround at the Tournament Players Club (TPC). Here he worked to provide customers and the community at large an upscale golfing and dining experience. “I was inspired by the connectivity of this community, we hosted non-profit and community events, and this exposed me to the cohesiveness of the Santa Clarita Valley and I knew I wanted to be a part of that,” Troy stated.
As the years progressed, Troy began getting more involved in this connectivity and went on to serve the non-profit sector which he holds dear. “I am the past Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, and still serve on the executive committee, I am a board member and advocacy chair of Bridge to Home as well and am committee chair for the Increasing Income committee of the City of Santa Clarita’s Homelessness Task Force,” Troy added.
While working at TPC, he noticed that there was a growing need for a healthier way to dine within fast casual and quick service dining. “The Santa Clarita community is big on dining out, we have so many restaurants and a busy business industry, I wanted to create something that gives better choices when it comes to fast casual and quick service dining,” Troy said. With his business acumen and over 24 years of hospitality and restaurant experience, he created KIWI Restaurant Partners (KRP) which is head quartered right here in the Santa Clarita Valley. “KRP is a consulting firm where we work with everything from single concept owners to international franchising, we help incubate and scale new and emerging brands in the restaurant space,” Troy added.
Since the inception of KRP, Troy has been recognized for his business model and has been featured in publications such as the Las Vegas Food and Beverage Professional. In the next year, KRP will be launching their own collection of restaurant brands under “The nurish Brands.” “One of the hallmark projects of KRP is the launch of The nurish Brands, where our mission is to bring more healthful choices across multiple cuisine options to people everywhere, especially where it is more needed in communities such as Santa Clarita,” Troy stated. nurish is a collection of brands presented in new innovative and technology forward ways to present multiple brands in a fun outdoor and engaging environment. “We are bringing to market our own concepts in a bran-new presentation no one has done before,” Troy shared.
As Troy looks to the future, he is working through the challenges brought on by the pandemic and is excited to bring his dreams into fruition within the next two years. In the meantime, Troy is taking the time to spend with his wife Erin and their 4-month-old son, Austin. In his closing comments he stated, “For me family is everything and my wife and son are my driving force to keep improving and with this new venture I look forward to serving the community that has done so much for us.”
