13th Annual Lexus of Valencia Jazz & Blues Concert Series
7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The sounds of live Jazz and Blues bands to once again fill Town Center Drive in Valencia.  This will be the 13th year that the Lexus of Valencia Jazz & Blues will feature regional, national and international entertainers in a quaint street party setting while offering interactive activities for adults and children. Concerts in the Park
7 p.m.
The Concerts in the Park series at Central Park began July 9 and will run through August 27, with all shows starting at 7 p.m.  So bring your picnic baskets and blankets and join Santa Clarita for a free night of great music.  Cost of admission is free.  Central Park is located at 27150 Bouquet Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.  For more information, please call the Arts & Events Office at 661-286-4018.

The Nicole Parker Foundation for Children 2011 Golf Classic and Dinner
8:30 a.m.
Join guests for the 12th Annual Nicole Parker Foundation for Children Golf Classic benefitting the Audrey Hepburn CARES Center at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles and a trust to support local law enforcement in their fight against child abuse. Participants will play a Modified Best Ball format with a breakfast, lunch, golf contests, silent and live auctions, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and dinner, all in support of the Nicole Parker Foundation for Children, a 501(c)(3) corporation.  Foursome: $1,800 and Individual player: $500.  For more information, please 818-882-8295 or email at info@nicoleparker.org.

5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Help us celebrate Safe Rides 25th year serving our community!  Our Car Shows are held on the second Saturday of the month, through October.  Spectators are free, and vehicle registration is $10 (donated to Safe Rides).   Car shows are held at Route 66 Classic Grill.  Route 66 Classic Grill is located at 18730 Soledad Canyon Road in Santa Clarita.  For further information go to www.route66classicgrill.com, or call 661-298-1494.

American Cancer Society Legacy
of Hope Gala

This Broadway hit is an homage to the author’s early days in show biz when he worked as a junior joke smith for the Sid Caesar’s Your Show of Shows.  He was stuck in a room with a bunch of the of the looniest comedy writers ever, who grew up to be the likes of Mel Brooks, Larry Gelbart and others.  The play is a memoir told by Neil Simon’s alter ego, Lucas.  The Repertory East Playhouse is located at 24266 Main Street in Santa Clarita, 91321.

The 17th Annual River Rally 2011 River Clean-up & Environmental Expo
8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Help maintain a portion of the Santa Clara River – one of the last natural rivers in Southern California!  We will provide gloves, trash bags, snacks, and special giveaways for participants.  River Rally is an excellent volunteer opportunity that is great for clubs, students, scout troops, non-profit organizations, and people of all ages.
