For me, it’s the feeling you get when your heart is beating faster than it should, when your eyebrows are at its peak, and when your eyes are wide open, to the point where it looks like you’re taking a magnifying glass to your cornea. It takes us to a different world and feeds our need for fantasy and an escape from real life. This is especially true for entertainment that is more public or media-related and entertainment provided by films, theatre, music, and all forms of creative art. Films and theatre transposes us to a world of fantasy and grabs our attention so we remain engrossed as almost a part of this alternative reality. Its possibilities are limitless and its effects tantalizing. It has the ability to uplift, inspire, and enrich. As a society, we hold entertainment to be of utmost importance. Isn’t that why we spend hundreds of dollars a month on about a billion television service providers? We can’t stop this historic obsession. And why should we? It keeps us moving and motivated to do things we don’t always enjoy.
