For Love of the Andalusion

by Stephanie Struyck Elgin

On Saturday, April 24, hundreds came to the Herrera Ranch in beautiful Sand Canyon to admire the stunning Andalusion horses, brought from Spain by the Herrera family.  The Andalusian horse is one of the oldest pure breeds of horse in the world, and Javier Herrera Sr. is the only one in the United States who handles his own Cobra of mares.  The Herrera family competes and performs all over the United States, and twice a year, they put on a performance at their ranch to showcase their love for their horses complete with authentic food, music, boutiques, and of course the Andalusion horses.  The next event is Saturday, July 24.
