Style abounds as guests will walk the red carpet followed by an evening of elegance in the beautiful Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency in Valencia. Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and Margo Hudson will be honored this year at the first annual SCV Women & Men of Honor Gala Dinner on Saturday, September 8.
The Gala, “A Night at the Coconut Grove”, will honor Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and Margo Hudson. Funds from the event will be divided among existing non-profit in the Santa Clarita Valley. Cocktails and h’ordeuvres will be served at 5 p.m. along with shopping at the boutique, then enjoy a delicious dinner served at 7 p.m.  The attire for the evening will be black tie optional.  There will be live entertainment from Art Deco Entertainment and Vincent Houser.
“Having Assemblyman Cameron Smyth and Margo Hudson as our first honorees solidifies the essence of what our non-profit stands for… Giving back with style, and who better than Margo for that, and to her 36 years and more of giving back to the Santa Clarita Valley, as well as Cameron Smyth for bringing in the next generation and for the contributions for our past and for the future of our Valley,” states Shelley Hann, founder of the SCV Women & Men of Honor. “With these events, we not only support our non-profit organizations, but we also support the community and our local economy,” states honoree Margo Hudson.  “There is a lot of planning involved and businesses who benefit every time there is an event in town.”
The SCV Women & Men of Honor was established to provide additional funds for our Valley’s non-profit organizations, supporting The Arts, Education, Health Care and Mental Health Care Services.  Shelley is passionate about giving back to the community.  “One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Fund a Need portion of the evening will go to the Guardians of Hope program at the Child & Family Center,” states Shelley.
SCV Women & Men of Honor is a new non-profit that will produce two major fundraisers each year, The Sweetheart Gala and the SCV Women & Men of Honor Gala Dinner.
Sponsorship opportunities at different levels are still available, including Event Title Sponsor, A Night at the Coconut Grove VIP Theme Table, Royal Table Sponsor, Gold Table Sponsor and Black Diamond Table Sponsors.  Individual ticket prices are $150.  “We are very pleased to have Harold and Jacquie Petersen as one of our sponsors,” states Shelley.
