Las Vegas is one destination in the United States that everyone should visit at least once.  The bright, shimmering lights of this amazing city that calls tourists from near and far, beckoning them to come and pursue the American dream, makes it one of the most dynamic and vibrant places anyone can possibly imagine, and the show goes on all the time.  The many diverse and flamboyant casinos on the famous strip and throughout the city attract over 37 million people from all over the planet to visit each year and try to cash in on their dreams with one lucky bet that can change lives forever.
The timeless romance with the excess and allure of the entertainment industry prevail in the remodeling and decoration of this month’s four bedroom, five bathroom, over 5,000 square foot La Maison feature.  Located in the Westridge community of Valencia, this entertainment inspired residence was designed to host all different kinds of events from nonprofit charity events to Super Bowl parties, and everything in between.
Upon entering the home, the first thing you’ll notice is the carpet.  Homeowner Shelley Hann explained that when she and her husband first began to remodel the place, the carpet was the first thing that they picked out.  Black in nature and embellished with vineyard-esque details, this one of a kind carpet prevails throughout the entire home.  A self-proclaimed ‘frustrated entertainer’, Shelley explains that she fell in love with the casino-influenced flooring as soon as she saw it and decided to decorate with the motif in mind.  The home was literally remodeled from the ground up.
The first stop on the tour of the home was the truly unique KISS bathroom.  Reminiscent of the legendary rock group of the 1970s, the red and black theme of the bathroom was designed around four, autographed, mounted heads of the band members that were purchased at a silent auction.  When asked about the inspiration, Shelley explained that the wild make up was fitting of her dressed up personality.
The formal living room is simply exquisite.  The strong lines and interpretive figures of the furniture, as well as the designs on the pieces, give a modern, art deco feel.
Adjacent to the living room, the formal dining room sits poised beneath an attention-grabbing chandelier hanging overhead.  Continuous with the black and white motif and artistic theme, this room is ideal for hosting dinner parties with its luxurious aesthetics and the addition of two beautiful French doors.  In the midst of all this, a prized, silver spoon from Graceland is displayed.  Being a huge Elvis Presley fan, Shelley explained how she acquired the piece from a mutual friend of “The King” himself!
Make your way into the heart of the home, the kitchen, dining, and living room area.  The kitchen is bold and beautiful with granite countertops, flawless, white cabinetry, and stainless steel appliance.  Seeing as to how this home was remodeled with hosting in mind, Shelley commented, “Caterers enjoy coming here!”  Inside the dining area, a custom furnished table and chair sit below another intricately crafted chandelier.  With delicately intertwined, hand-blown glass, this piece gives an elegantly crafted luminescence to the room.  In the living room area, the classic American set up of a couch and chairs in front of a giant flat screen television are accompanied by not only a customized dog bed to match the furniture, but a one of a kind exotic fish tank that stands in the corner of the room.
Culminating the downstairs area of the house, we ventured to the second floor, which wasn’t anything short of ‘grand’.  The beautifully decorated Vegas room, which was exquisite.  Influenced by the famous Paris hotel and casino, a mural by Darlene Marcos captured the essence of the theme fittingly.  Hann said that she holds a place for Paris very near and dear to her heart because she worked there for many years before she decided to settle down.  Inside the room, various pieces of entertainment memorabilia decorate, along with a wrap around couch in front of large glass panes that really give you that penthouse feeling. Upon entering the grand master bedroom, the first thing that came to mind was presidential suite.  Adorned with extravagant patterns and luxurious furnishing, just being inside the room makes you feel as if you were at a five star hotel, complete with a pampering area full of glimmering pieces for touch up. Furthering the hotel-like theme, the his and hers style room with a walk-in shower was pleasing to the eyes and soothing to the soul.
Step into the backyard oasis, designed by the man of the house, G. Marshall Hann.  Shelley explained when they first bought the house and made plans to remodel, she was in charge of the inside as long as he was in charge of the outside.  When they said they wanted this house to be ideal for hosting, they meant it.  A 1,200 square foot covered patio equipped with two flat screen televisions, a fire place, and an enormous bar that looks like it belongs inside your favorite restaurant live up to this home’s expectations.  Accompanied by a large, lounge-friendly swimming pool and spa with falling water features throughout, this backyard is great for any kind of occasion.
Shelley and Marshall have called this place home for four years.  Starting from a fixer upper they acquired at a bargain of a price, they truly transformed it into the ideal place to host with all the glamour of the entertainment industry.
