Her illustrious career has etched her way into country music’s record books and at the age of 32, has accomplished more than most seasoned veterans. Having sold over 40 million albums, the young country superstar captured the heart of country fans across America and worldwide, adding two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards to her collection. The youngest recipient of a Grammy Award, LeAnn Rimes is also the first country-recording artist to win in the Best New Artist Category.
The talented musician has graced her singles 42 times on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 13 of those being top 10 hits. Songs like Can’t Fight the Moonlight went number one in 11 countries, and one of her most notable song, How Do I Live, was the second longest charting song ever on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Born on August 28, 1982 in Jackson Mississippi, LeAnn Rimes was destined to be a star at a very young age, winning her first talent contest at the age of 6, and releasing her album titled Blue just shy of her 14th birthday. The album went on to sell over eight million copies. LeAnn has since released more than 10 studio albums, three compilation albums, and two greatest hits albums. Just last spring, she released her most personal album to date, titled Spitfire.
In 2000, LeAnn made her acting debut in the film Coyote Ugly, recording four songs for the film’s soundtrack and taking home a Billboard Award for her work.
An accomplished actress and musician, LeAnn has also authored two children’s books titled Jag and Jags New Friend, the novel Holiday in your Heart and What I Cannot Change.
Throughout her career, LeAnn has also shown her support for various non-profit organizations including National Psoriasis Foundation, the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes and StandUp for Kids. She is currently working with The Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth.
