Hot News for the End of Summer
Each season brings something new and exciting in the world of economic development for the Santa Clarita Valley (SCV). Our local economy is strong with nearly full employment and sustained job growth in high-wage sectors. To date, we’ve celebrated several groundbreakings for new headquarters and industrial developments, SCVEDC launched an internship website to link local employers to qualified students (scvinternships.com), College of the Canyons announced new apprenticeship programs, and many local companies received assistance with tax credits and other incentives saving them tens of thousands of dollars!
The SCVEDC continues our work with business attraction and business assistance to help maintain Santa Clarita’s status as Los Angeles County’s most business-friendly city. As I reflect on all that has happened already this year, the future looks bright!

Relocates to SCV from Burbank
Nasmyth Group, a UK-headquartered manufacturing company (precision manufacturing), is relocating their San Fernando Valley operation to the Santa Clarita Valley. They serve major companies in the aerospace industry including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Esterline. Welcome, Nasmyth Group, to the SCV!
Interest in SCV Climbs as New Development Projects Near Completion
As the occupancy rate in Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley reaches capacity, businesses are challenged in their search for industrial space. SCVEDC attends Select LA foreign direct investment conference
The 2017 Select LA Investment Summit is Southern California’s premier international trade event that brings together hundreds of global investors with business and governmental leaders from Southern California to facilitate and secure foreign direct investment (FDI). We were happy to attend and showcase the Santa Clarita Valley as a great place to do business.

Competes Award
GO-Biz has awarded Santa Clarita Company, EarthAid LLC, a tax credit of $50K. The Cal Competes tax credit is just one of many incentives for businesses in the region.
