Introducing The Artists of the 9th Annual Empowering HeArts Gala
Empowering HeArts is an annual event that helps raise funds for programs and services offered at Single Mothers Outreach and in helping to empower the members we serve. Each year, the community nominates women they feel embody the selected theme. Once narrowed down to six honorees, they are then paired with 6 local artists who will help depict the stories of how these women represent the theme.
On the night of our event, we reveal the wonderful art pieces created by the artists, and the community comes together to help celebrate these inspiring women. With entertainment throughout the night and wonderful items up for auction, it is surely a night you will not want to miss out on! This year’s event’s theme is Integrity. The event will be on February 8, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia from 6 pm to 11 pm.

Aazam Irilian:
Aazam is inspired by nature, where she is pulled into experiencing every curve, movement, texture, and fragrance by being present in any given moment. Her goal as she paints each piece, is to translate the positive energy and memories of her experiences into visual images that would touch the hearts and souls of her viewers.
Chloe DeJong:
Chloe is a children’s book illustrator and pyrographer that enjoys creating through the techniques of wood burning and watercolor painting. Her fine art speaks on the subjects of empowerment and femininity by portraying women as tender, yet fierce warriors in the midst of their personal battles and overcoming adversity— a hero of their own stories.
Cecilia Kikalo:
Cecilia is a figurative artist who often depicts subjects within the context of daily life. Her work has been exhibited in different galleries throughout Southern California, and she is currently waiting on results for submissions to galleries around the country.
Nancy Schier:
Paint is an instrument Nancy chose to capture thoughts, messages or statements filled with lush colors and symbolism. As an illustrator and designer for the studios for over 27 years, she’s become more of a concept artist and director freeing the message of her client into imagery.
Kirby Lanier:
I paint with the mission to bring healing to others. I paint to let my passion live and I paint to heal the broken.
