Kaiser Permanente Specialty Care, Close to Home Coming Soon
In spite of tremendous population growth since first officially becoming a city 30 years ago, the City of Santa Clarita still has a “small town” feeling that is a source of great pride to locals and a breath of fresh air to all its visitors.
Not long after the close-knit communities of the Santa Clarita Valley joined together to create what is now the third largest city in Los Angeles County, Kaiser Permanente opened its first medical offices in the City of Santa Clarita. The high-quality, affordable health care that Kaiser Permanente was known for throughout California was now available locally, with physicians, laboratory, x-ray, pharmacy, urgent care services and more—all under one roof.
To keep up with the growing community, Kaiser Permanente’s Canyon Country medical offices opened in 2008 to support and enhance the services already being provided on the other side of the valley.
Payman Roshan, Senior Vice President and Area Manager, Kaiser Permanente Panorama City says, “Our goal in Santa Clarita has always been to provide as many services as possible locally, so our members don’t have to travel to the San Fernando Valley or beyond for primary and specialty care.”
With that in mind, Kaiser Permanente purchased the old Borax headquarters on Tourney Road.
“We are currently transforming the building,” continues Roshan, “So that we can offer our members in Santa Clarita more specialty services closer to home.”
Members will notice a dramatic difference upon entering the new medical office building, scheduled to open in early 2018.
“We’re presenting an evolved design, with a very welcoming aesthetic that doesn’t look or feel like your typical clinical setting,” adds Roshan. He says the 64,000 square foot medical office represents Kaiser Permanente’s evolution toward creating highly efficient, environmentally-friendly facilities designed to improve the member experience. The new design will enable greater connectivity with physicians using advanced technology. Open-space waiting areas will educate, entertain, and reinforce Kaiser Permanente’s commitment to total health.
“Some of our technology enhancements will include the option for remote check-in via the Kaiser Permanente app, and text message alerts notifying you when your provider is ready so you’re not glued to a waiting room chair,” says Roshan. “If your physician decides that you require an additional consultation with a specialist, video consults will be available on-demand so you won’t have to make an additional appointment, saving you valuable time.”
Kaiser Permanente Santa Clarita Medical Offices 2 is scheduled to open in early 2018, offering specialty services such as Cardiology, Hematology, Oncology, Neurology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology and more—plus several outpatient surgical suites.
Other services to be offered in the new building include Laboratory, Pharmacy and Urgent Care, to further enhance the patient care experience.
